I-I'm sure it's okay, we're still around.. And as an example most of the officers on this ship appear to be levelheaded about it, surely someone out there is doing something...that, er, doesn't have to do with hugging or repenting.

At least some of them are reacting by spreading love, though? That's one tiny positive...

Most of them seem to be simply pointing out that the loving and and repenting won't work, instead of proposing solutions.

Perhaps. Though technology may only be a bandage. Treating the symptoms and not the cause, as it were.

Again, perhaps. But the prospect of more time to find a solution should not lull us into a false sense of security--or thinking we can afford to go slowly, with that extra time.
