I know it just seems like have been posting aimless lyrics but this is really taking a new control over me and i can't describe it. Each new "song" i write is its own entity and piece of me and it is what keeps my piece of mind really.
Lately it seems like i have been doing it with out thinking like i'll be in class and a line will just run through my head and i write it at the top of the page.
Sunday night when we were getting drunk for Suke's birthday i don't know what happened but i just got really sad. Everyone had left my room and automatically felt so alone...I took to my note book and wrote it all down, poured everything i was feeling on to that paper and passed out holding my pillow crying to sleep...I think a combination between that and the writing made me feel so much better the next day...I had "shed my skin".
well i wrote this song about when i got arrested and some of the things i observed how bout how things go down in jails and prisons i called it 24hrs because thats how long i was there for.
24hrs
They stop us in our tracks
While we mind our business
They rob you of the facts
And try to break our weakness.
Feeling like you've taken a fall
Feeling like you've lost it all
Gather you thoughts and be strong
The times passed, war has begun so take the call
Slap on the cuffs and take me away
Lock me up underground so not to see the light of day
Today morality is lost
Money rules the world; we're forgotten we're lost
Feeling like you've taken a fall
Feeling like you've lost it all
Gather you thoughts and be strong
The times passed, war has begun so take the call
In a way it's kind of ironic
Wouldn't you say?
To be in the land of the free
Yet be treated this way
This is guilty till proven innocent
The cracks that reveal the flawed system
24hrs locked up in prison
No respect or compassion just mistreatment
Feeling like you've taken a fall
Feeling like you've lost it all
Gather you thoughts and be strong
The times passed, war has begun so take the call
Greed, hunger, poverty, and double crossed
We should re-think how we live and at what cost
"To be or not to be is the question?"
But where has the freedom gone in our judicial system?
well i'm off to start my hw now @ 230am
Much love to everyone
hoping to get my music of the ground
