Today was an interesting day. This day I was woken by an ant; not many ants crawling all over you, but a single ant. I never knew how light of a sleeper I am. Matters not for when I arose I smelled a sweet scent; the inviting type of sausage and maple. I followed the scent to a meeting place of types. At the front of the meeting place there was a white rock that was more of a spire. I found familiar people gathering around a rough table eating. They welcomed me in and the meager meal was more than satisfying, for it was more than anything I have had for many a morning. After our meal we engaged in a game of sorts. Suffice it to say trading with those in power is not a good idea. I bid them Farwell returning to my home tree; yes home tree. I sleep under it and that is where I keep all my stuff. Gathering all I need for a long trip I scouted out my horse, saddled him up and rode off. For today I was traveling far to meet someone; no; not some one. The fairest of maidens who for some reason in all her glory has seen me fit to befriend. As I darted through town after town the only thing on my thoughts was pure joy that I would be able to see her again. My destination was an academy of sorts. This place was for the great and noble, in other words not me. As I approached the main grounds I tied up my horse a bit off and wound my way to where she said she asked to meet. I arrived and she teased me a little by coming out on the balcony. I saw before me a wondrous healer of many talents. What a glorious glimpse of beauty.
She came down and the embrace we shared was as glorious as any could ever be. Healers always give the best hugs, only surpassed by nymphs. The day we spent together was amazing, yet it was a little bore hearing about all the studies that they all go through but it made me think that if I were to learn more than I might be able to gain a better status in life (we all know I need it) and not to mention more skills. I am always for more skill. But I enjoyed seeing the beautiful grounds that this academy offers.
The time flew as it does as we talked and walked. It was enjoyable while it lasted; but all good things to come to an end and as such I had to leave before it became too late. So I bid her a good day and I then parted ways. Getting to my horse I then rode that long and lonely trip home. But it was not filled with lonesome thoughts for I know a time will come that I meet her again. But for now I thought on the matter of knowledge. I then and there devoted myself to learning. But I have not the means to join an academy of any sorts and who would have me? I guess I will have to do things my way. But not tonight; there is more to see and more to do. The long trip back to familiar territory was surprisingly shorter than expected. Coming to familiar lands I figured I would join some other friends. The time I had with them was enjoyable as well I offered each of them my services and joined them for a challenge or two which we never got around to finishing for one decided to be cruel and devoted all his power to stopping us; rather than to being the first to succeed.
I would go into more detail but there are better times to tell of these great people and their skills. Each one is both a threat and a great ally.
Returning home or at least to the tree I call home sleep came to me sooner than expected.
