[ Character's Name ] : Elizabeth "Liz" Thompson
[ Character's Age ] : No idea, man. 16? She's among the oldest of the crew
[ Series ] : Soul Eater (manga verse)
[ Canon Point ] : Chapter 86

[ History ] :
Since the Wiki has failed me, I'll type up a brief summary of things. (No really. This would not cut it.)

Going by Liz, she is the older sister of the Thompson sisters, the younger sister being Patti. Their mother was described as "the most beautiful whore in Brooklyn" and both inherited those good looks-the only thing Liz was thankful for. They both used to live in Brooklyn and used to live on the streets, robbing people by utilizing their abilities as weapons. Like her sister, Liz is a weapon and can transform into a pistol. Known as the Demon Twin Guns, they are able to use one another and can transform freely mid-battle to alternate. It is because of their tag-teaming, and the fact that when in pistol form they are identical in appearance, that the shinigami Death the Kid chooses them to be his weapons. Both of them are actually kind of grateful for Kid since he saved them from a group of thugs and also admire his soul, seeing it as very dignified. As Kid also respects the two sisters, all three are able to cooperate and work well together. Liz often looks back to their old days in a nostalgic yet somewhat negative light. That is to say, she prefers her current life over her past.

Kid later requests to join the Shibusen academy, and since then all three have been attending classes, making friends with Maka, Soul, Black Star, and Tsubaki. When not helping out in missions, Liz goes out shopping and just lives the life of your typical teenage girl. Of course, their lives have been anything but peaceful ever since the rebirth of the Kishin, Asura. Toss in Medusa, Arachne, and now Noah and others, and it's bye bye peaceful living, hello mission nightmare.

Since they're his weapons, Liz and Patti will always accompany Kid on his various missions-even if Liz will disapprove of them if it involves anything involving creepy, ghost-related things. She had a real hard time aboard the Nidhogg. Because of her canon point, Liz will be caught up with Kid and will therefore be aware of all the events that have transpired. This includes: Asura's rebirth; the infiltration of Arachne's fortress, Baba Yaga Castle; the time Kid was separated from them and taken into the Book of Eibon; and her own trek through the book to try and rescue him. The only reason why I'm not delving too much further into the last two parts is because it's going to get expounded in the Personality section. She is also now part of the SPARTOI group along with the rest of the core SE members.

[ Personality ] :
As the older sister, she is more mature and coolheaded...except when it comes to anything related to ghosts/spooky things. She pretty much freaks out and hides behind her younger sister, and sometimes it can render her useless. Really, it's not so much different than Kid's own issues with symmetry. Otherwise, she’s pretty much like a teenage girl: enjoys shopping, make-up, keeping up appearance, score some hot guys. On that note, Liz will be quick to flirt and charm guys-be it for true romance interest or just so she could use his cash. Growing up on the streets, Liz is used to the "take advantage of other people" scheme. But she'll "fangirl" and crush on guys just like any other girl. It's also hinted (or rather blatantly suggested) that Liz is also quite lustful, another reason why she likes flirting.

Because she was raised in the streets, Liz is very street smart. She knows the tricks of the shady trade. As the older one, she is also more aware of the harsh reality of the world. She also knows that money talks, which is why she and Patti robbed others for a living. It's one of the reasons why she assumes Kid to be a spoiled "rich kid" when she first meets him. This also makes her very grounded in her thinking and really pushes her up in the "most normal character" rank of the series. She sees things the way they are, and the only "ideals" she has are romantic, girly fantasies that even she probably doesn't really believe in. But hey, a girl can dream, right?

Liz does have issues with Kid’s obsession with symmetry, and usually fails tries to talk him out of it. In the end, she has to put up with it, and whenever he goes into his bouts of symmetrical depression, she is the first to try and comfort him. She also plays along with the whole deal and is usually the one who is doing what Kid instructs, mostly so that she can get it done and over with and not have to put up with his angsting. If she can't get him to snap out of it, she'll call upon her sister to basically, and sometimes literally, kick his ass into gear. You could consider Liz as the sort of second in command of the trio. Whenever Kid loses it or gets distracted, she tries to bring him back to focus. Keyword: try.

You could also say that she more or less lives up to the "big sister" role and looks after both Kid and Patti. She really, and I really do mean "really," cares for both of them. (time for bullet points!)
  • Patti. Liz basically adores her little sister. After their mother abandoned them, Liz took it upon herself to be the older figure and role model. She will always look after her well-being and will ensure that she is safe and has a good life. In fact, in the past she always believed they only needed each other. When the sisters first met Death the Kid, along with her own personal benefits, Liz thought of how she would be able to provide for her sister and give her all these cute things. This is highlighted when Kid is taken into the Book of Eibon. She had transformed out of her gun form and had Patti in her hands, but she couldn't bring herself to shoot after Noah basically dismissed her. Patti berated her for being a coward. However, she had good reasons for it. She knew that they were no match against Noah, and while she didn't want to lose Kid, she also didn't want to lose her only sister as well. She was literally torn about the decision, but it was the wiser of the two. She knows her sister isn't exactly the brightest lightbulb, and she does tend to treat her like a little kid rather than her real age. But even so, she loves Patti and she probably would spoil and pamper her even when they became adults.

  • Kid. Kid changed their lives in a lot of ways, a fact that Liz eventually recognized after being around him for a while and is quite grateful for. Though he could be a pain, Liz would also look out for him-both as a friend and as his weapon. When Noah first abducted Kid, she immediately transformed to her human form and aimed at Noah with Patti still in her gun form. Even though she was shaking, her immediate response was to try and get Kid back. During Kid's rescue, when they are in the Chapter of Greed she forsakes all the money around her and instead wishes for the safe return of Kid and Black☆Star. This is a rather huge point of development as Liz love money quite a bit. To forsake it for Kid's safe return shows just how much she cares for him, as well as how happy she was when he did come back. She may have seen him as just another tool at first, but over time all three developed a bond that she never expected.
She’s also rather laid back, or at least gives that sort of vibe when you look at her. At the very least, she would rather not get into any more troublesome situations or problems if she can help it. Comfort and ease is what she'd prefer. She can also get rather nostalgic and tends to get reminded of their past lives back in the streets rather frequently. Usually Patti has no idea what she's talking about when she starts to talk about it, much to her slight dismay.

[ Strengths/Weaknesses ] :
She can turn into a pistol and instead of bullets, she fires soul energy from the wielder, who can be either Patti or Kid. Any souls she collects go into the magazine of the gun. When she’s with Patti, they can go into Soul Resonance with Kid and perform a powerful attack called the Death Cannon. Both she and Patti transform into giant arm cannons when this occurs.

They can also perform other high leveled Soul Resonance attacks, and even their gun forms will change, but I'm not sure if they'll be able to do so in Vatheon. It depends if Kid has the ability to connect the Lines of Sanzu here, since how that actually works isn't really explained. There were hints that it might be connected to Shinigami's own powers, so...yeah. It's doubtful they would ever be able to do that anyway.

However, that said, it's debatable if Kid can go into Soul Resonance if only one sister is around. It's already proven that Kid has extreme issues with just holding one gun (as it throws him off balance), so even if he could manage to find a way to do it, it's questionable if they could perform a Soul Resonance with just one gun. No idea. If not, then should Patti or Liz ever leave Kid and the other behind, that would cut back a lot of power, if not render each useless.

As mentioned before, Liz and Patti can wield each other. They can also transform instantly and switch off between transformations. While both are skilled, Liz usually has more control while Patti goes all over the place (though still hitting the marks), and Liz is usually the one who takes the Meister position.

As for her major weakness, that would be anything creepy, slimy, and just plain downright scary. Liz cannot handle anything zombie related or disgusting looking. She also has a quirk when it comes to fashion.

[ Other Important Facts ] :
She’s wearing a cowboy outfit and wears jeans (unlike her sister who wears shorts). She also has a small bust and DOES NOT LIKE any mention of it, especially compared to her overly compensated little sister. She’s also pretty tall and has long hair.

Oh, unless I am completely mistaken, I do believe she is Kid's "right" gun-that is, she goes to his right hand when transforming. I'm not sure if this is always the case or if they alternate depending on where they are, but from what I can tell, she's usually on his right side.

Other meisters can wield both her and Patti so long as the soul wavelength matches up.

And this isn’t exactly important, but even though they take on handgun pistol forms, the Thompson Sisters are most likely based off the Tommy Gun, which were used by gangsters. Considering how they grew up, this is really a pretty good symbolic reflection of who they used to be.
