When you open up your mouth to speak could you be a little weak

today I had a very meaningful experience as a fangirl. I had a long interaction with a condescending fanboy. what an anthropologically and socially interesting experience!

I feel like my life has really changed.
for example, I have learned that I am not as cool as he is because he has a pokemon tattoo and I don’t, and I missed the numbers of the original pokemons by one which makes me a lesser fan.

we love a lot of the same bands, but his taste in music is somehow still superior. I didn’t exactly understand why, but apparently it’s true.

he had won an argument which he created in his own head - which, as far as I’m concerned, wasn’t an argument but an exchange of opinions over the x-men animated series and batman the animated series - by stating “this is not even an argument because you’re wrong and I’m right, and it’s a fact” - I did not even know you could win arguments like that! what a useful tool!

my favorite x-men saga is passable but not the best one there is, another interesting fact.

my japanese is better than his - I corrected him about how to translate his name to japanese (aviv, which means spring in hebrew and translates to haru. pretty basic japanese), but I did not throw it in his face or acted smug about it, which probably makes me weak. he quickly changed the subject, so I can’t tell for sure, but I get the sense that I missed a good opportunity to make fun of him. shame on me for making that mistake.

my brother, a casual mcu fan, doesn’t know anything about the comics, and yet he did not get into any arguments with him or judge him over his lesser knowledge. unfortunately, I don’t have a penis so I didn’t get the privilege of not being scrutinized. that’s a shame, but I’m real happy for my brother. good for him for having boy parts.

it’s so nice to meet a fellow fan in a country where fellow fans are not that common and get a rundown of everything wrong with the way I enjoy things. I mean, imagine if we sat there for three hours and enjoyed talking about our mutual interests and were super excited over meeting a fellow fan! that would’ve been just awful, wouldn’t it?
