So, it's Friday and I am sitting by the pool at Coco Beach writing about our adventures on Days 4 and 5 of our Belizean honeymoon. I'l make two separate posts for each day.

Wednesday, Day 4:
Our fourth day in paradise began with a rainy start. We had planned to spend the day in town and around the resort since the day before was so packed. We decided the rain wasn't going to get us down and set out to the dock for the 8:00 AM boat taxi. We had to talk the driver into taking us in the rain and finally succeeded. So, with Johnny soaking wet and me with a towel on my head, we hopped in the boat and headed for San Pedro. Our first stop was to Estel's for breakfast. Johnny had two eggs over hard with bacon, black beans, and fry jacks, while I had Heuvos Rancheros with beans and fry jacks. Fry jacks are flour tortillas that are fried so that they puff up and you can put either jam or honey on top. So good! Another delicious meal in Belize. After breakfast, we took a few minutes to browse the shops and sort the junk and more expensive stores. At 10:00, we took the boat to the resort, as he had hoped to go with a couple we met from San Francisco that were going on a snorkeling tour of the Mexican Rocks. There, there is a sunken ship and more coral reef. Unfortunately, the boat was full, so we were unable to go. Instead, we made lunch in the room. We made egg, bacon, and ham sandwiches with back beans and cheese with a side of tortillas. All ingredients were products of Belize. Very fresh. We bought the eggs from a market not far from the resort. They kept them by the register just sitting out on the counter, warm. I guess because they are so fresh out of the chicken, they don't have to refrigerate them. Anyway, it was all fantastic! Best breakfast sandwich I have ever had. Johnny agreed. By this time, the sun had come back out, so we lounged by the pool chatting with a couple we had met from New York the day before on our snorkeling trip. We had agreed to meet back up again at 4:00 PM on the dock to head into town and watch the chicken drop. The chicken drop in held every Wednesday night beginning at 6:00PM. The game involves buying a number between 1 and 100. Each number costs $1 BZ equaling only 50 cents US. Johnny and I bought five numbers. Now, they throw a chicken into the ring of numbers after twirling and shaking him and blowing on his butt. If the chicken poops on your number, you win $100 BZ. We, unfortunately, did not win, but it was all in good fun. After the drop, we went to Waraguma for dinner. We both shared a papusa, which is a corn meal pancake fried on a griddle stuffed with beans, cheese and meat. My God, it was heaven on a plate. Along with that, we ordered the seafood burrito to go so that we could make the 8:30 PM boat taxi back to the resort so that we could get to bed at a decent hour. Reason being, we made plans with the Tuff-E-Nuff guys to tour the Mayan Ruins, Zunantunich, and to go tubing through some of the cave system. We ate our bursting burrtio and headed for bed.
