peanut butter doesn't belong in hardcore !

last night owned. i skipped work washing dishes so i could drive to lexington with carl and caleb to see a house show. we listened to minor threat and darkest hour and the clash on the way up. when we showed up i was surprised as fuck to find out that austin, ian, and greg from breaking away and arron from human condition's new band, harpers ferry arsenal, was playing! those are seriously some of the best dudes ever and it was great catching up with and rocking out with them. we really went to see romefell another time before they went home. those kids are amazing. the show was really good. there was a big conversation about christianity in hardcore, i was talking about the same thing with a kid outside, so i missed the guys from bloomington talking about that issue, which was probablly a good talk. everything ian, greg, and austin do is fucking sweet. this is a good progression from the sweetness of breaking away, it's more talk and less rock, which is what it's all about. i'm stoked for them.

so somehow carl and aaron started mud wrestling in this really big puddle of water in the back of the house. nothing but boxers on, and i got it allll taped in ones and zeroes! you can see that video and lots of other pictures at www.kickmetwice.com/gallery/romefell. we went to a diner called tolly ho's after the show with the romefell guys and the cute punks in matrimony randy and anthony. it was so nice meeting them. we from madison recognized them and they recognized us. we think it's because we all were religious brycc house goers, small region. the diner had vegan onion rings. carl and cj had a coffee drinking contest. he won. and had to stop a lot on the way home, hehe. those kids in romefell are really amazing, it was hard as hell to say goodbye.  the ride back was nice, we listened to flowers and cops and nakatomi plaza over and over again. "so why don't you understand that this thing has lost all feeling. let's bring it back again and get excited about what's supposed to be open doors and no more hiding out. finally got our feet on solid ground... ...raise our fists and we'll scream together, FUCK THIS!". we talked about our band playing out a bit this summer and how much fun we're going to have and how everyone's going to relate to one another.

man... making plans is fun, and life's amazing most of the time. oh. caleb gave me an early birthday present because he'll be in south dakota next week. it's a framed picture of all of the volunteers standing in front of the madison youth cultural center. the mayor's in it too, haha, because it was taken the day of our open house. it has an exerpt from can we start again pasted onto it. it's the best thing ever, thank you caleb.

i'm really stoked about friendstothecore.com. the site will be devoted to the madison hardcore/skate/bike community and will have tons of videos photos and mp3's covering just that, our community.  we have 1 gb space and 20 gb transfer, so it's going to be BIG! we're all working hard to make it deck as f' and it should be up sometime in early/mid april. tonight carl and i are going to this church youth center/arcade fun place complete with church service at the end. we are going to interview the kids and the organizers of the place. seriously, that place is a total mystery and i can't wait to find out what the deal is with it. the "youth center" is self-righteously dubbed "180". we're gonna get to the bottom of this one...

"do you still believe? well so do i"
