playing the indie white boy blues... or somethin'

today i worked for my mom again. she wanted a day off, who am i to say no? it was sweet, she bought the new david dondero album while i was gone and it was sitting by the cd player so i listened to it while at work. totally depressing... but good. and the first song about touring is my jam. i got off at 5 and came home, then caleb and eric picked me up for the rock the fuck out session. we wrote another song. writing songs with those guys is so right there should be a law against it! here's a sample of the lyrics from today...

"point me in their direction and i'll kneel down and pray.
we're on the inside of a revolving door, outside our music goes unplayed.
this is the feeling of exclusion, i'm not sure if there's anything to be a part of.
there will be no more burials in their direction.
we're no longer waiting for their resurrection.
we're the bastard child of hardcore.
when did you close your ears?
where is the music?
we're the bastard child of hardcore."

we decided that we're called The Sailor and the Fury. it's one of those names you have to back up with being good. haha. so we'll see, right?

after practice we went to a show at the jaycee's. it's not our scene but sometimes it's fun. there was a band called the malcontents who had a really good girl bassist. she sang "i don't give a damn bout my bad reputation" by joan jett, and she totally owned that shit. and the best thing of all... they now have a foosball table at that place! it is a shitty one, but it's better than nothing.

So caleb, eric, and corey all fucking rule and have made the last 2 days super fucking fun.
