Things Accomplished on a Saturday Afternoon:
- Bought four books (I Am a Cat by Soseki Natsume, The Labrador Pact by Matt Haig, The Sportswriter by Richard Ford, and A Wild Sheep Chase by Haruki Murakami) at The Book Loft for their Buy Three, Get the Fourth for a Penny Sale; At one point, I couldn't help but mention that it felt like I "had a whole farm in my hand."
- Went to the Columbus Museum of Art
- Became stuck in traffic in the Short North during the aftermath of the Annual Gay Pride parade and saw a small motorized train with about four cars filled with gay men and a woman with a mesh shirt and only pasties underneath. The mesh shirt-and-pasties look though was just wrong and cause an involuntary shudder and dry heave
- Drove to Zanesville; found lost dog
Each of these is a story unto itself, but I'm feeling tired and accomplished at the moment so I'll leave it at that. Though there was something really beautiful and uniquely human and touching about a woman in a wheelchair coming up to us after we left the bookstore. She asked if she could pray for us or anyone we knew, and I honestly couldn't think of anyone that needed it. She simply smiled and said "That's good" and wheeled across the street.
