Canon Relationships
Nakamori Aoko(abluechild)♥♥
Kaito's best friend since they were 6. He's known her practically forever and considers her his only really close friend. She knows him the best and he's the most comfortable talking to her about things, though as they've been going through high school he's developed a bit of a crush on her, not that he's admitted it yet. Recently there's been a bit of contention between them over the issue of Kaitou Kid. Kaito is Kid, though Aoko doesn't know and is also a "fan" of his, but Aoko hates Kid, so the two argue about it a lot. Kaito is fully aware of the reason why Aoko hates Kid even if he pretends he doesn't and it makes him feel guilty, but he doesn't want her to know partly because he's irrationally afraid she'll hate him and mostly because due to his enemies he's afraid she'll get hurt if she gets involved.
In the Manor: Not much has changed between these two at all yet. What Kaito doesn't know though is that Aoko knows Kaito is Kid, but is heavily in denial about this fact.
Hakuba Saguru(im_in_ur_exit)♥♣
Slightly complicated, like all his canon relationships. He didn't like Hakuba at the start since he's stuck up and smug and a detective, and because he deduced that Kaito is Kid and is always trying to find some way to prove it. Oh and Hakuba has a crush on Aoko too so that doesn't help either. Despite this, they get along fairly well, even if that involves a lot of snark and pranks and Hakuba's even helped him sometimes, if only because he wants to be the one to catch Kid. Kaito respects Hakuba's detective skills, even if he will never admit it out loud and damned if he'll openly admit to actually liking him a little.
In the Manor: So, things did not start out on the right foot when Hakuba got to the manor, mainly because Hakuba turned out to be his roommate, but things didn't really change between them for the first couple of weeks.... Then Gin showed up and Hakuba decided it was time for them to stop dancing around the subject of Kaito being Kid. It turned out that all of Kaito's assumptions about Hakuba were almost completely wrong and Hakuba came to Japan not simply to try his hand at catching Kid, but because he'd realized Kid was actually involved with something far more dangerous than everyone realized, i.e. the Black Org. though he didn't actually know that much, and Hakuba had actually been trying to help without making it obvious almost the entire time he'd been chasing him. This has caused him to completely re-evaluate his feelings towards the detective.
He doesn't quite know what he thinks yet, but he does feel more comfortable around Hakuba now, even if them both liking Aoko still causes tension.
Edogawa Conan/Kudo Shinichi (always1truth)♥♣
Ah Conan. His favorite Chibi. This one is also slightly complicated. Conan is an intellectual equal and gets tons of respect, about as much as if not more than Hakuba, but he's also an annoying smug brat. He enjoys getting one up on him any chance he gets, but he knows full well that if anyone has a chance of catching him one day it's Conan, so he's also very wary of him. This relationship is also less complicated than Hakuba in the sense that since they rarely meet except on heists and the occasional run in on cases it's more of a pure rivalry. Oh yeah, and he also knows Conan's secret of being really a shrunken Kudo Shinichi. He doesn't know how that happened yet though.
In the Manor: Conan was already in the Manor when Kaito arrived. At first though, things between them didn't really change much because while Conan figured out Kid was in the Manor (mainly because Kaito deliberately gave him a false name that hinted to his identity), he still didn't see Kaito's real face or hear his real name.
Then childhood fears week happened and since apparently Shinichi didn't have any childhood fears, The Author instead brought in a fake apparition of Gin. Conan proceeded to freak out and stalked Fake!Gin around the Manor, something that forced Kaito to save him twice. The first time Kaito told him they had a mutual enemy in the Black Org. and from that point on they started to work together against the org. This did not stop Conan from running off to stalk Gin around on his own without even so much as telling Kaito what he was doing though.
Then Hakuba showed up, and while Hakuba actually attempted to keep Conan from suspecting Kaito of being Kid, what Hakuba did let slip was still enough for Conan to put the pieces together thanks to his knowing Kaito's dad was the one who taught Sharon Vineyard and Shinichi's mother Yukiko disguise, and other things he'd noticed.
And then Gin showed up and things got rocky. Kaito still has tones of respect for Conan, and has actually begun to care about him as a friend, but he's frustrated by Conan's recklessness and the way he handles his fear of Gin, not to mentioned they got into a nasty fight during the Soul Eater plot when Kaito got the idea to appear in front of witnesses as Shinichi to help throw Gin off realizing Conan = Shinichi. Their working relationship has a lot of bumps in it still to say the least and he doesn't like what this says about how things will go when they get home if Conan doesn't get his act together.
Koizumi Akako(lastredwitch)♥♥♣
Akako is his classmate, but also a witch who has the power to make men fall in love with her and do what ever she wants them to do. When she transferred to Kaito's school it wasn't too long before she discovered that Kaito was, for whatever reason, unaffected by her spell. This being something that had never happened to her before, she became quite determined to make Kaito her slave. She knows he's Kid and even tried to kill him once (Though she couldn't go through with it in the end), but she also came to his aid once when Hakuba came dangerously close to proving he was Kid and she's recently settled down from active attempts to ensnare him. She even seems to have taken a liking to Aoko, who she initially saw as an obstacle. Kaito is still understandably wary of her, and greets her various cryptic warnings and proclamations with annoyance, though he knows that she's actually a good person deep down and has never really hated her despite the things she's done in the past.

Yay for pet baby dragons! Kaito met Sable while they were in Paris and likes her already. She managed to do the impossible and get Kaito and Hakuba to act civil to each other outside of an emergency situation, so that's good.

He seems like a pretty cool old dude. Kaito met him in a Bistro in Paris and they talked over food.

He met her when he first came into the mansion. She seems interesting, what with being a mute psychic and all.

One of Conan's allies in the mansion. They haven't officially met, but he participated in a Kid heist in Paris. Mello currently seems to want to wring his neck, but he's certainly not the first person to feel that way about Kid and is unlikely to be the last.

Aoko's friend from the Manor. He also has a crush on Aoko and Conan told him he killed some girl before Kaito came here, so Kaito doesn't like him much at all. Also, thanks to Aoko confessing to knowing herself while drunk, before Kaito arrived, he knows Kaito is Kid, though Kaito isn't aware of that yet.
