4.04: Time for some thrilling heroics.

Jul 02, 2007 18:31

The Mainframe populace go about their business as usual, if disturbingly cheerfully. The air is filled with cars and zipboards, not CPUs and tanks.

Everything's quiet, more or less.

Of course, given the group that's just coming in from Milliways, that's not liable to last long.

The Principal Office doors burst open, and out leaps Hexadecimal.

But this isn't the trembling white sprite Daemon left on the steps a few nanos before. This is Hexadecimal, the Queen of Chaos, a nightmare in red and black, her cracked mask/face frozen in a snarl of rage.

"GET AWAY FROM MY SPRITE!" she roars, blasting Daemon with an energy beam that sends her flying.

Hell hath no fury like a Chaos Virus scorned.

"Or, alternately, explode."

Far ahead in the flying virus' path, a young blue sprite with bright red hair steps out into the street and glances to one side, then flicks her head abruptly in Daemon's direction.

A large, decrepit truck bearing the inscription "TWO SMALL SPRITES WITH BIG CPUS TRANSFERRING COMPANY" snaps into view. Daemon heads one way. The truck heads the other. And when they meet, in midair above the city...

BOOM.

Enzo, standing in the PO doorway, gapes in awe.

Best. Way. To end a war. EVER.

Bruck is...well, he's not thrown off his feet, since he's on his zipboard, but he does get thrown off balance and drift a few feet thanks to the shockwaves. And then, he looks up and sees the fireball from the explosion. WOW...never seen anything like that before.

Matrix watches the massive explosion with a look that is a mix between shock and giddyness manly admiration of explosions.

"Holy frag..."

Tommy squints at the brightness of the fireball, then rides with the shockwave for a bit as it hits him. It was, he admits, a very good explosion.

"Nice shot," he says, though he seems more concerned with the aftermath of the explosion than in awe of the event itself. He'll relax if and only if he sees some indication that the attack was effective.

Comes the reassurance, "I recorded it." Tucker's voice contains a hint of tears. "That... was a thing of beauty."

Hellboy still has the car door in hand but it seems the calvary has finally arrived. "Bout time." He mutters then watches the explosion. "Nice."

He still has the car door in hand though, waiting to see if the result of the explosion is what they hoped for. If not there's now more then just him and Danny to knock this crazy lady around. Even another crazy lady it seems. Which might be fun to watch actually.

Oracle had been moving toward the Principal Office with vague plans to lend a hand. Apparently that hand will no longer be needed. She grins a bit and shakes her head, "Why can't things ever be that easy back home?"

Only a few picoseconds have passed. The smoke and flame begin to clear...

Revealing Daemon, unharmed, and looking very, very pissed off.

She's not violent by nature, but someone's gonna pay for that.

"...Well, drat. That didn't go as planned."

Matilda zipboards back a few feet almost contemplatively, then unzips the shapeless grey bag hanging from her shoulder and pulls out a small brown cube. (The poly count was rough on the poor thing during digitization.)

Flick. She looks at it, and it launches itself towards Daemon. The boom is smaller this time, but she's already pulling out another one and it really doesn't seem as though she's going to run out anytime soon.

She could, however, use some help.

And she's still standing. "Crap."

Hefting the door he slings it at her as hard as he can as the girl chucks more explosives at Daemon.

He takes off after the door, fist drawn back and ready to engage her again. He's fireproof so the explosions are no problem, he's also on his toes er, hooves and ready to dodge should Daemon try and toss the door back at him. Of course she is damn quick so might be him being ready doesn't really matter.

If it were just Hellboy, she might have dodged. As it is, she's too busy ducking Matilda's explosives to notice the door until it's too late. It hits her right in the side of the face; she's knocked back a few yards and turns toward Hellboy, incensed.

Perfect. Tommy has absolutely no fantasies about such a pretty little thing not fighting back; after all, it looks like she'd been giving Danny and Hellboy quite a thrashing. And while he may be a Power Ranger, and while he may have a very strong sense of honour and integrity...

Well. There is a time and a place for those, and this is not it. Tommy got a good charge off of the shockwave, and he's not gonna let it go to waste. The instant Daemon's attention is redirected toward Hellboy and his improvisational weapon, Tommy unleashes the immense burst of energy that he's been building directly at her unguarded back, following it immediately with a volley of smaller blasts.

The energy is a very manly shade of purple, it must be said.
