Photoshop CS4
Easy
7/8 Steps

This was create for yackfou over at coloring_help , but i thought you may find some use for it.

Other examples.

1. Open your base, crop to 100 x 100 Pixels.

2. Create a Fill Layer and flood with #faafa0 and set to Softlight 100%.
This will bright then whole image, also making the skin more peachy. If your image comes out to bright either lower the Opacity, or darken the Fill Colour.

3. Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Color Balance
Shadows +16 -10 -3
Midtones -1 -9 -2
This will give the image a little more contrast, which was taken out by brightening the image in the previous step. It will also add some more colours to the image, the purple and reds.

4. Create another Fill Layer and flood with #fbe1cb and set to Color Burn 30%.
This colour adds a little more depth to the skins tones, also it darkens some of the shadows.

5. Create another Fill Layer and flood with #fc7386 and set to Screen 20%.
This makes the overall image a little more pink, which was toned down a little in the previous step. This pink color will also brighten the overall image.

6. Duplicate your base, drag to the top and set to Darken 20%.
Bring the base to the top helps make the colors a little more realistic, and matte out the image.

7. Merge all layers and Sharpen the whole image, I left mine at 100%.

8. Take a white blurred brush, size 90 and set to Softlight 100%. Place this just of center.

And your done. This coloring will not work for every image, so please play around with the settings.
