I have missed a few days and am catching up snowflakes! It's also timed for the real snowstorm we're expecting tomorrow... on my BIRTHDAY! (Yay. Snow.)
Day 4 - Interact with Someone (missed it. Whoops)
Day 5 - Fanwork recs (3 sets)
In H/D, I'd like to rec:
1. The fic I got for
H/D Erised :
Written on the Heart. It's over 113K of glorious, sexy, UST, hysterical eighth year fic with Slytherin!Harry, the rest of his house in Muggle Studies, Draco sulking and beautiful, SOULMARKS, and oodles and gobs of delicious pining.
2. Femme's
A Private Reason for This. This fic actually slays me. It's not every day you read your partner's work and think, wow, this is a new level. This truly is a remarkable detective novel with an H/D, magical setting. It's probably my favorite long, world-building fic of hers since
Exegesis. Absolutely breathtaking. Just don't tell her how awesome she is, or she'll get shy. (Actually tell her, though. B/c it's amazing.)
In Stucky, I'd like to rec:
1. Cesperanza / speranza's
4 Minute Window. This universe, this version, this telling of their story absolutely breaks me. It's stunningly detailed, beautifully crafted, and it just keeps getting better until the end. So many outtakes and so much beauty. This is one of my canons.
2. BetteNoire (WeAreWolves) :
Murder Ballads. BetteNoire is a RL comic writer and has beautiful, visual storytelling and achingly specific plots. I love her sense of character and also her ability to narrate disaster. I couldn't figure out whether to rec this or
LuckySeven, but I thought, hey, start here. If you haven't read her yet, you are in for a treat.
In "Other," I'd like to rec:
1. Junkshopdisco's
Honeysuckle Arch. This is 1D, multi-relationship focusing around Niall (Niall/Nick Grimshaw, Niall/Harry Styles, Harry Styles/Nick Grimshaw). It's nihilistic and beautiful and searching and offbeat and scorching. It charts an LA vibe, a London vibe, and that sense of being dislocated wherever you are.
2. Rageprufrock's epic
Least of All Possible Mistakes. This is a love story between Georgiana Lestrade and Mycroft Holmes. It starts with Sherlock, and traces early Sherlock canon, but it much more about the two primaries with a beautiful backdrop of Sherlock himself. Stunning. I find myself reading it frequently, and it's always astonishing.
