New bed
Last week we transferred Riley into a "big boy bed" - it's a large, raised twin bed made by Step 2. It has tons of super positive customer reviews but it's a bit pricey to buy new. Lucky me, I found a used one on Craigslist :) Ended up paying more for a good twin mattress, but at least that will last for ten years or so. The bed itself is big and strong enough to last him for years as well.
Although the bed is raised (with doors underneath so he has a fort!)and has short sides, he can still easily get out of it so I was wondering if he would end up getting out of bed in the night and wander around. But nope! He loves the bed as much as he loved his crib. After he has his milk and his bedtime story, he points to his bed because he wants to lie down. I put his blankets around him and he waves and says, "Bye bye!" and I leave the room and he's down until 7:30 the next morning. Yay!
