Puppy?

How do you teach a puppy to pee in a specific place (on a newspaper, or a puppy-diaper kinda thing), and not all over the place?

The only dog I ever had came to us older, and already trained... I didn't appreciate that at the time, but REALLY.

My grandma had a good method, but it was tested on cats only. It'd be too brutal anyway, I guess...

Erm...okay.

First, wait until the puppy pees. Then - as soon as it pees, catch it and wipe the puddle with its face.

Yes, I know. But it worked - at least that's what I heard. The cats turned out to be extraordinarily quick learners ;)

See, that works only with cats. do it with a puppy, and he either thinks this is the exact spot he is supposed to pee at... or starts to lick his own pee.
