vacation-ness

Well, the trip's been booked, so there's no turning back now. I'm visiting my mother in Charleston again, in April, the week *before* Massachusetts's school vacation week. I'm going to stay in a hotel again, since that seemed to work so well last time (September 2004). This time, I found a beachfront hotel, so that should add an extra dimension of vacation-ness. It's actually right on the beach where they filmed the final battle scenes in Glory, and it's strange that that fact popped into my mind to mention first, because it's also the beach where that battle, as depicted in the final scenes of Glory, actually happened. >smacks self<

Although I initially panned it when it came out in 2004, Sum41's album Chuck has really grown on me. Sheryl Crow's latest, however, is not taking to the soil of my mind. The songs just seem so... content and mature. (And by "mature" I mean that almost all of the tracks have overdubbed string arrangements.) I think Sheryl writes better when she's depressed. Or maybe, in order to properly appreciate this record, I need to find myself a Lance Armstrong. See, that sentiment sounded a lot less gay in my head...
