I saw Spike Lee speak yesterday. He had on a leopard beret and matching glasses. He wore tight jeans up high and was not tall. He talked nostalgically about old street games he played as a child in Brooklyn, I can't remember any of the names. He doesn't let his kids play video games. I liked the way he paused, repeated the amazingly dumb part of what was said as a question, and paused again when a man in the crowd asked Spike about his inability to find a film program at a Christian Grad School and an older white woman, who "waited 5 years to ask", but did not ask, and proceeded to rant and reveal her own fascination with the young white female's choice in Jungle Fever. He was so cool.
I would like to write about a series of photographs for a queer theory paper. I immediately thought Frankenstein when my professor said queer text, now I'm reading Frankenstein.
The southwest is full of great things. I'm most taken with one desert native.
I was eating breakfast this morning and watched two mice, or one very fast and clever mouse walk in the hall and adjoining room. As a result, Ms. Karam is not spending the night here. I'm now sleeping next to a mouse deterrant machine, it yells at them in a way that I can't hear. And there are two peanutbutter stuffed box traps. I hope to find two peanutbutter covered mice tomorrow morning.
