My brother just tried to hack an AIM account I asked him to log into (I typed in the userinfo and password, didn't let him watch for the latter) so he could tell me when the person whose paper I was editing logged on. Of course, he tried to hack it in front of me, with his comp screen three inches from the center of my field of vision. And in the most absolutely inept way (trying to copy and paste the typed in password. Even if the program allowed the copy function, he did it the wrong way, and it wouldn't have shown up as the characters of my password. Ha.), so I wasn't too worried, and so glanced at the convo he was having wherein a quick glance made it evident he was talking about swiping the password. So I read for a few exchanges and turns out he was planning a "next time" and all that jazz.
He was so red-faced when I asked him why the fuck he just tried to hack my account. Ran and hid under tables when I went upstairs to change that password (didn't need to worry about the others; they're not linked, and honestly, if he's going to break into one account, that'd be the one I'd be least concerned about).
Bet he just can't wait for the discussion we're going to have tomorrow.
It does suck though. Thought we were friends. And I thought he wasn't stupid enough to alienate this fantastic car-driving, money-having, intelligent ally he's got who has introduced him to all the TV he likes, half the programs he uses, and has taught him at least half of what he knows about computers and video games.
Live and learn, I guess.
