Back from Berlin and hello
Just back from a great week in Berlin which turned out to be a very welcoming city (apart from the lack of signs on the S Bahn and the guards in the Alte Nationalgalerie who were christened the guards who like to say nicht !')
But a great week of layers of history and art and some lovely meals = and a couple of days with
esteven joining us which was really good:)
Also fascinating to be the 'other 'side of the ongoing Obama- Merkel story and subsequently of the British embassy rooftop equipment scandal. I always appreciate news in another country for the perspective it gives.
Curiously my hotel room TV Appeared mostly to offer Italian and Russian channels.
Off this weekend to see one of the special NT screenings that are running once again of the very acclaimed Danny Boyle Franknestein in which Messrs Cumberbatch and Lee Miller alternately played Frankenstein and the creature = this is the version with JLM as the creature = I would rather like to see the other way around too but having missed it on at my local arts cinema while I was away I am struggling to find a showing near me which I can make.Any fangirl who knows of one that might be feasible for me to reach do let me know !
Otherwise here it is all the usual post holiday stuff- washing and ironing and sending the postcards one didn't quite get to send while actually away - so they are coming honest :)
plus wading through emails and realising how much there is to catch up on.
Pictures from Berlin will follow hopefully when I get organised. Though alas not from the 'Naked Men' exhibition which was advertised on posters all around town - that was one cultural experience we sadly did not fit in ;)
