Someone on my flist recently used the word "complainatorium"... I think. I'm stealing it. FYI.

You're right - quality of icons is just outstanding and extremely good. I looked at previous rounds @ xf_lims and hell, you just can't compare them. Back then it was much easier to chose icons with the lower quality. Right now it's really hard. But hey - people agreed to take a part in this round and they should be prepared that it can be hard. There's nothing wrong about you asking voters to give objective reasons why they think that some icon is worse than the others. That's your job, and since LIMS is a contest for a best quality icon maker, the job of the voters is to chose the best by eliminating the ones that are not that good ;)
And I don't really get why you feel bad because of winning the last two rounds. You totally deserved this! And I don't think it's because you chose caps that made making icon easier for you - for every challenge you chose many caps and every participant have a chance to find at least one that he can use to make a good icon :) You can't feel guilty because you had an inspiration to make an excellent icon!
I'm really sorry that you decided to drop the contest. You are a brilliant icon maker and it's simply a shame that you won't be in the finals. But if that's what makes you less stressed, I think it was a good call.
And don't take all of this so serious - it isn't worth being in such a bad mood. I believe that most, if not every, participant treats LIMS as a chance to have a good fun - I know I do. It's not a tragedy to be eliminated - you just have to accept that there are makers better than you. And if you don't you shouldn't take a part in the contest in the first place.
I hope finals will go great and won't cause you even more stress :) You have really done an amazing work with running this comm, bb! :)

I think it's more than anything a combination of stressors - not LJ related - that's making me a nutcase. :/ I took the comm on, in part, to occupy my brain and give me a schedule and something to focus on not anticipating it would add to the stress... but it's only adding to the stress because I care about the folks who entered. I feel like I got to know so many of you. :)
