Sphere Madness
Well yesterday was a crazy day, to say the least. After a long day at work Friday all day/night I had to get up yesterday morning for work again...of course after closing I had to open the next day...thanks a lot to my boss. Granted we did get out early Friday night...one of the sprinklers went off at the BS in the coat department. It was crazy, but sucks cuz all that stuff is damaged. Was a huge thing too, had the fire department come and everything.
So yeah it was another crazy day at work yesterday, I was just so tired from working a long day the day before. I ended up leaving like 15 minutes early so I could get to the auction for all the spheres. The downtown art thing I always do, this year it was spheres. I loved mine, I think it turned out pretty good...the voice auction was crazy, some of the ones that I thought were amazing went for so cheap, its just sad. Artists like myself spend so much time working on these things and people who buy them I think to really realize this like they say they do because the get away with a steal in buying them. I really don't think some people appreciate what art is and how much time it takes to do some of these things. I understand that these art things were huge and people are thinking, where is it gonna go? But I guess I just look at it all as, all the money raised goes to a good cause, why wouldn't you want to help that? Ughh.. its just crazy...I could go on and on about it but I won't.
As for my sphere, it was in one of the silent auctions. And for the first time, out of the 6 times I've done this, this is the first year that my piece didn't sell. Yup...I guess no one wanted it or really liked it. Eh so yeah I'm not bitter...Not everyone is going to like my art. I really liked mine. Well so now it will get raffled off I guess at Racine's Party of the Pavement in October. Don't know if I'll see it go, I have a wedding to go to that day I guess, but hmm we'll see what happens.
Last night was fun, I had dinner with Rick and my parents. Then I stopped out at a local bar to meet my friend from work to celebrate a bday. It was pretty fun. I stayed at Rick's last night, I was so tired. When I got to his place from the bar I had to take a shower and get my contacts out. My eyes have never hurt like that so bad from a smokey bar, usually I'm fine, maybe it was because I was already tired, who knows. I ended up goin to bed pretty quick, we didn't wake up til like noon and stayed in bed til like 1:30 haha, it was great. I love just layin around with him :) He made me breakfast, haha breakfast at 3 in the afternoon, they were awesome pancakes :) I'm still a little tired. I know I'll sleep well tonight...I hope I do....gotta go work again tomorrow....ugghhhh the damn cycle of work never ends!!!!!
