The time: a little before noon. I had just grabbed some lunch at commons and I was heading back to the dorm to watch a show while I ate and read some before my lab at 3:10pm. I fumbling around carrying some stuff, my food, the key, and a notebook, so when I unlock the door I barely notice a small "click" sound. Anyway, I am hungry so I think nothing of it; I take off my shoes, set the key, my cellphone, and my wallet down on the desk as I sit down and watch a Simpsons as I eat.
After I finish I take my plate into the common room, clean off the remainder of my tasty burrito, and put it in the dish return bucket. I walk back to the room, and attempt to turn the handle--Oh shit! I locked myself out! Turns out that "click" I heard was the door auto-lock that I must have set because I turned the key too far when I initially unlocked the door. Now I'm standing outside the room with no key (obviously), no phone, no wallet, and no shoes. I can't call the CSOs because it isn't exactly my room; I don't have a second key, and Anna is in class until 3:00pm. So what do I do? I walk to the ETC in my socks (I'm not a damned barefoot hippie), and type this up on Livejournal.
Anna is going to need to get a spare key from Greywood, and her last class is in the same room as my next class so I can inform her of how awesomely cool her boyfriend is and ask her nicely to get the spare so we can get into the room. Until then I am going to bum around on the computer here and teach myself some LaTeX (because it is so awesome, holy crap, I want to write my thesis in it. Hell, I want to write all of my academic papers in it from now on).
Like I've said a number of times before, I'm pretty cool.
