so let me get this straight
because i have a question
i said as i was pacing back and forth
the tap of my shoes
and the tick tock of the clock
acting in unison

"what did she mean by that?"
i would ask
"well she meant this..."
i would reply as i sat in the chair
watching myself walk by
i saw it simply
but i was confused
i had a grip
but i was falling fast

"you see that clock,
and the tick tock it rings?
you see your feet,
and the tip tap that it sings?"

yeah i replied

"well they act together for
a reason."
"are you saying,
father time has a plan?"

i smiled and looked up at myself
i stopped walking and looked at myself
sitting in a chair and smiling
when time stopped
