You come to a point in your life where you think to yourself "Are my favourite bands REALLY my favourite bands? What musical act do I find myself indulging in the most for the last couple of years? Let's face reality." Ulver happens to be one of those acts that for some reason I have never considered as one of my top 5 bands, but really they are. I find myself constantly listening to their grand variety of sonics, and really desiring their album collections and merchandise. So I went all out today (well, out as in on the Internet) and found the sudden urge to buy an Ulver t-shirt, as I haven't bought some form of musical clothing for a while. At the end of the night, I find myself with this Ulver shirt from Ebay (though I am sure it is most likely a bootleg, but I love their old logo and symbol)...
and once visiting their myspace account out of curiousity of what their new track off the new album 'Shadows of the Sun' sounded like, I bought the entire pre-order collector's offer they currently have going.
- Shadows of the sun CD
- Shadows of the sun limited vinyl edition (with alternate front cover by our friend David D'Andrea)
- Shadows of the sun T-shirt (black or faded black, sizes medium, large and extra large. Girlies are black in medium)
- Autographed photo and stickers
NOK 450 / EUR 57 / USD 79
Collector's deal:
- As above, plus the 10" red vinyl edition of A quick fix of melancholy EP
NOK 550 / EUR 70 / USD 97
Although I may have to get the women's shirts fitted in to my size, I am quite content and surprised with the final result of my purchases. It is enough to make any Ulver fan jealous. :P
