Just rambling stuff

There is a state park not far from where I work in Sheboygan, and on Wednesday I had a 2 hour break. So I drove down to the park for lunch. While I was driving into the picnic area I saw a doe and her baby fawn. The little one couldn't have been more than a few weeks old. As I slowed way down, almost stopped, the doe bolted across the road. The fawn looked at mom, looked at my car, looked at the blacktop, then did the ungainly skitter across to join mom.

I sort of wish I had a camera with me.

Fixed the brakes on my car the other week. Found out both rotors were prematurely rusted; still not sure what caused that to happen. Also discovered the rear right caliper was frozen... all it took for that amazing discovery was busting a 6" drive extension in an attempt to screw the piston back in for new pads.

That would have also been worth a picture. Me standing there with the socket wrench and busted drive extension with this "What the hell just happened?" look on my face.

Aside from that the repair went really well. There was no yelling, or bleeding. Just a muttered, "S.o.B., did I bust the tool?"

It took a little longer than planned, but even that was expected when I realized the caliper was frozen. High note: I saved myself more than $300.00 doing it myself.

I've recently been going absolutely wonky for fresh fruit. Strawberries and blueberries have been on sale recently. Let's just say I'm surprised my skin hasn't turned blue or red. I sit down to read, or surf the web, with the fruit next to me. The next thing I know I'm groping around an empty container.

Not much else going on right now, other than some drop off in business. Seems the economy is catching up to us a little. Waiting for Patrick Rothfuss's next book. He's the author of The Name of the Wind, which I really liked.

Okay, you read this far. What's up with you?
