Character Name: Kiara
Fandom: The Lion King 2: Simba’s Pride
Source: (Wikipedia or some other summary of the plot and character - only necessary if your character is from an obscure fandom)

Character History:

Kiara is the daughter of Simba and Nala, born in the Pride Lands when it had recovered back to its original state it had once been in before Scar had become king. Like her father when he was a young cub, Kiara enjoyed exploring which usually resulted in having Timon and Pumbaa as her “babysitters”.

One day while she chased after a butterfly, her father made Timon and Pumbaa follow her in case she got hurt; however, after finally showing her frustration of constantly being called princess by the two babysitters, Kiara told them that being a princess was only half of she was. When asked about the other half, she stuttered, not being able to answer the question. Once Timon and Pumbaa became distracted (while arguing about what kinds of bugs are more delicious), Kiara had chosen that moment to sneak out to the Outlands where the exiled lionesses who remained loyal to Scar lived. At the border, she encountered a young cub named Kovu. While the two bantered a little (and Kiara being in awe at the other cub’s “ability” to take care of himself), the two were soon attacked by crocodiles.

After a narrow escape, the two had gotten along much more nicely than before. Kiara had even decided to abandon her game of tag to an activity which Kovu was more accustomed to: fighting. The two did not realize that they were being watched by Zira - Kovu’s mother - who was hiding in the tall grass. When Kovu responded to Kiara’s challenge, Simba had appeared which only caused Zira to come out as well. After the older lion’s (and lioness’) talk, they carried their young cubs back to their respective homes.

It was only when they were within sight of Pride Rock that Simba had chosen to talk to Kiara about her actions. From there, Simba had given Kiara her first lesson which would help her in the future.

Years passed and Kiara had grown into a young, fine lioness who was ready for her first hunt. She made her father promise to let her handle the hunt alone, knowing that if he didn’t, he would send Timon and Pumbaa after her. Unfortunately for her, even after Simba had promised her and she left with her father’s permission, he still sent Timon and Pumbaa after her.

During the hunt, Kiara continued to chase her prey around after making too much noise despite her attempts to stay quiet; yet, she had encountered Timon and Pumbaa who were both looking for her. Upset and feeling betrayed that her father had broken his promise, Kiara ran off, vowing to continue her hunt outside of the Pride Lands. What she didn’t realize was that Vitani and Nuka (Kovu’s siblings) were ready for her.

Once the two had caught sight of Kiara, they set the savanna on fire, trapping her in the thick clouds of smoke. Kiara attempted to reach safety before the fire could get to her, but fell unconscious when she reached a small cliff that was temporarily out of the fire’s reach. Dazed, she noticed Kovu who was sent by his mother to rescue her (which was all part of the plan). It was only until after Kovu had managed to bring her safely back to the Pride Lands that Kiara regained consciousness. Shocked, she yelled at him, not recognizing who he was at first. It was only until after he asked her what she was doing (the same way he had when they were cubs) that Kiara finally recognized him.

Before Kiara can show her excitement to see him again, her parents had arrived. She watched as her father and her childhood friend growled at each other, unsure of what she could do or say to either of them. It was only until after Rafiki showed up that the two finally stopped. It was then that Kiara discovered that Kovu had come to ask to join their Pride, but Simba was unyielding since he did not fully trust him. As it was, he agreed to let Kovu come with them, reserving judgment until Kovu’s true colors are finally shown.

Meanwhile, Kiara and Kovu had begun to grow closer after Kovu had tried to teach her how to hunt. Though, that plan ended when the two of them ended up being dragged into a “game” with Timon and Pumbaa (who were, for once, not following her) where they scared off the birds who were bothering the other two. Of course, the events had turned the other way around and the four of them ran away from the rhinos who chased after them. They had taken refuge in a small area, but while trying to get out, Kiara and Kovu’s muzzles accidentally touched, causing both to become nervous and shy.

It was only until the night when the two were stargazing that they realized that they had fallen in love with each other (with some help from Rafiki). Due to this, Kovu was led astray to his feelings; thus, Zira thought up of another plot.

The next morning, Kiara was about to go talk to Kovu but was surprised when her father wanted to talk to him instead. Yet, she was happy at the possibility that her father was warming up to the “rogue”. It was only until later on that day that she found her father, injured, when she heard that Kovu had planned an ambush; however, she refused to believe it. When Kovu returned to Pride Rock, Kiara was ecstatic, but soon became devastated when her father laid out his judgment:
Kovu was to be exiled.

Heartbroken, Kiara pleaded with her father to reconsider, but Simba remained steadfast. He banned her from leaving Pride Rock without an escort, stating that if Kovu was following Scar’s footsteps, then he should follow his father’s (Mufasa) footsteps. Kiara, upset and angry, told her father that he could never be Mufasa and ran back into the cave, ignoring her father’s shock at her words. In the den, Kiara discovered a way out, and headed out to find Kovu who had ran off after Simba’s judgment was announced.

She continued to search for him, and to her surprise, discovered that half of her reflection was missing. The two had finally reunited and both lie down together next to a pool. When Kiara looked at their reflections, she noticed that their reflection were merged as “one”. It was until after Kovu had stated, “Look, we are one.” that Kiara had finally understood her father’s words. Kovu soon leapt away, exclaiming that the two of them should run away and start a pride of their own. Though amused, Kiara told Kovu that they should head back. Even though Kovu believed that she was joking around, she told him that their place belonged with their pride. If they left, then their prides would be divided forever.

With that said, the two made their way back to stop the fight between the two prides.

Character Personality:
Kiara was very much like her father when he was a young cub - adventurous, stubborn, and not afraid to go against her father's wishes; an example of this would be when she went to the Outlands even after her father told her that it was forbidden to go there. The difference between her and her father is that Kiara isn't proud of her royal heritage as he was. She kept insisting that she isn't just a princess to her two babysitters (Timon and Pumbaa), having no desire to become a queen in the future.

She had always been playful, as a cub and as a lioness. Though, Kiara has also proven that she wasn't against the Outsiders for who they were - such as Kovu and Zira. Despite the fact that the two of them had been raised differently, Kiara still viewed Kovu as her best friend, even giving up her own game of tag to do an activity that he was much more comfortable with. It didn't matter to her that Kovu was supposed to be following in Scar's footsteps in order to become king of the Pride Lands.

As a young lioness, Kiara was still retained her adventurous spirit and a strong sense of individuality. When she was about to go on her first hunt, Kiara made Simba promise not to send Timon and Pumbaa after her, wanting to prove to him that she was able to take care of herself. Kiara is also very determined, such as her attempts to prove her individuality and her attempts to continue hunting despite the fact she constantly made mistakes in order to catch her prey. Her need to prove herself to her father was her motivation to make her attempt so many times in order to succeed.

Unlike many others in the Pride Lands, Kiara doesn't hold grudges. She has a positive outlook on life, even managing to see the good side of others; for example, Kovu even though he was accused of ambushing her father, and Zira who planned the ambush and wanted Simba did. In fact, Kiara doesn't have any prejudice against the other Pride at all, viewing them as the same her own pride even if they did worship Scar. Despite being a young lioness, Kiara had proven that she is also very wise, understanding the words her father had told her when she was a young cub. She knew what she had to do in order to unite the two prides; even when Kovu suggested they run away and start their own pride, Kiara told him that they had to go back or else their prides will be divided forever, revealing that she still remains loyal to her Pride despite of what happened.

Powers:
Kiara is an ordinary lioness with the reflexes and strength as one. She's a quick runner (not as fast as cheetahs) and able to jump to great heights (though lions and lionesses are known not to be great jumpers). Though, Kiara is able to manipulate her paws as a regular human would be able to do with their hands.

First person
Hello?! Is anyone there?

[It takes only a few seconds before a lioness's face suddenly appears through what could be known only as a water hole. She looks wet, almost as though she was just running through the rain.]

I'm not sure where I am and Kovu isn't here either... [She trails off, worry written in her features.] Please, if anyone sees him, can you tell me? He’s a lion, but with dark-colored fur and green eyes.

[There’s a slight pause before she gives a strained smile] If you do see him, please tell me. My name is Kiara.

Third Person:
The moment that Kiara came to, she immediately knew that something was amiss. She slowly got up and carefully examined her surroundings. Kiara blinked when she realized that she was no longer where she was previously, worrying her instantly. She looked around, hoping to catch sight of her companion, but her hopes fell when she realized that Kovu was nowhere around her.

“Kovu!? Kovu, where are you!?” she called out. Kiara could feel worry weighing itself on her heart and she quickly set off to find him. This place was foreign to her and she could easily get lost here, but Kiara was more worried about Kovu. What if something happened to them? What if he was lost here in this place? But, if he was here, then wouldn’t he be beside her? The questions flowed through Kiara’s head and she had to stop momentarily to calm herself. Now wasn’t a good time to panic, she told herself. Kiara had to collect herself before setting off again.

Taking a deep breath, she looked around, examining her surroundings again once more. For all she knew, she wasn’t the only one here so she would have to be careful not to draw too much attention to herself. At the thought, Kiara felt herself smile when Kovu told her that she made too much noise when attempting to stay quiet. Well, she would have to prove to him that she was able to keep quiet. Though, she paused when she noticed a water hole nearby, padding over to it quietly.

She peered into it, eyes widening when she caught sight of strange people in the water hole. This was new, and as far as she was concerned, nothing like this had ever happened before. Kiara shook her head, closed her eyes and counted to ten, before opening them and peered down into the water hole again. The strange visions were still there. Kiara took a deep breath, looking up at the sky.

“Grandfather, if you’re up there, please watch over me,” she whispered. She wasn’t sure if Mufasa really was up there, but Kiara knew that it couldn’t hurt to try to speak to her grandfather. This place was strange to her and a little guidance wouldn’t hurt. Kiara looked back down at the water hole. “Let’s just hope someone can hear me through this."
