Friend and foe alike, I've finally found the time to start my journal. I must say, I was happy to see
seekercho here, even if she hasn't added me back yet. Ravenclaws stick together, and that's important as this journal project seems to be awash in Slytherins and Gryffindors. If you're reading this, Cho, I've nearly completed the necklace I promised you

Thank you for taking the time to make the necklace for me - I really appreciate it. What kind of lantern do you think you'll be making? I've started work on mine, but I'm not sure how good it'll be. Oh, I do agree with you about the ball gowns - I have to say I didn't really want to go to that Ball at all, but it seemed like everybody was going and I felt that I should. The lantern festival should be much more fun, I hope.
I'm sure there'll be a mooncake for you, Padma! You're really pretty. As for me, I'm rather hoping I won't have one. After that horrible fight I had with Rheece the other day, I think it would be best if I just steered clear of boys for a while.

My latern? I have several ideas, not sure which one will work best. Sometimes having too many ideas can be as bad as having none! Your necklace will be done in time for the Festival, I've just a few more beads to add.
I agree with you about boys; sometimes they are more trouble than they're worth! I'm sorry to hear about you and Rheece, if you need someone to talk to, I'm here.

Well, despite the lack of ball gowns in this upcoming event, (which are not in the least silly, I should add), I would have to say that I am quite interested in this little festival nonetheless. Although I can't say that I'm so excited that I would spend time to go and actually research in the library to find out more. But do tell me if you find any interesting books on lanterns! Only if they have lots of beautiful pictures, that is...
