Oh...hey!
Yeah what's up. I'm still in Texas. I graduate as a combat medic on march 20th, then, contrary to the belief that I was going back to Oklahoma after this, I'm going to Germany. Cool beans, huh? I don't know what unit I'll be assigned to yet, and I don't know how much time I'll get off in between or when I'll be coming home, but hopefully I'll be finding that out soon. But for now expect me home on like march 21st.
So for a little update, I'm over halfway through medic training and I'm a certified EMT-B and I'm doing all the combat medic stuff now. We've been giving eachother shots and we startgiving IVs to eachother soon. It's pretty fun, we get to go to the local army hospital for a couple days, requalify on our rifles, and spend a week in the field doing combat medical training towards the last 2 weeks, and there's like 7 weeks left.
The current plan is to switch to reserves as soon as possible. I'm going to find out how to do it when I get to Germany. I'll probably have to spend atleast another 6-12 months in the active army, but I'll accept that. What can I say, I miss home. I should have gone reserves from the beginning. Oh, and thank god for stacey! woo! So anyways...
