I just stopped by to say what's up. I really haven't been doing much, aside from reading a little. I"ve been writing a ton. I finished my story about Tate. It turned out to have 48,493 words and 118 pages. It could pretty much be classified as a novella. So that's what I am going to call it. I just started the spin-off. It's from the perspective of one of the characters a kid named Hatcher Summers. He is someone Tate meets during the competition. It tells Hatcher's back story.
It's been a challenging start because i'm trying to be lyrical (if that is the right word, probably not) I like things like that. The sun was raising its head between sky scrapers winking a hello at the forsaken.
That's how I'm trying to write it. I enjoy writing like that, but it's not something I do often. Ersatz trendsetters and those who jumped on bandwagons soon filled the hallways like rodents. Locker jockeys, threw in their Spidey backpacks and expensive coats, to be forgotten until the final bell rings.
Gaggles of giggling girls loaded with too much make up and mommy’s good looks flooded the bathrooms at the last minute to apply an extra pound of cake to their already clogged pores.
Sometimes I try to sound smarter than I actually am. But I really enjoying putting words together like that. Anyways, aside from writing I have been doing a 30 Day LGBT movie challenge. I watch one LGBT themed movie a night, starting at 9 pm or 8 depending on the length of the movie. I have to watch it to the end credits in order for it to count. This is really something I am challenging myself to do. I want to see if I have enough movies of that genre to last. I mapped out what I am watching when and it turns out I do. Every other night is a foreign film.
I have given up on reading for awhile, though I did try to read "City of Bones" but I am not sure I'm really interested in it. It's a good book with likable characters and it's well written (far better than Twilight) but It's really not my type of read. I prefer young adult books about actual people without super powers. Which is why it's weird that I liked Harry Potter. I just really liked the characters. They won me over more than the plot did. Though the magic did help a lot. It was just so creative. I don't know it's difficult to explain. Maybe I'm just not into vampires, werewolves and the paranormal when it comes to literature. I enjoy fantasy in books I read but not sci-fi. I do enjoy sci-fi movies but not literature. I make no sense, I know.
Anyways, that's what I've been up too.
