Sooo... Here is a classic example of how the consumer is never right. Your damned if you do and damned if you don't.
Citimortgage and I came to an agreement, that I would pay (undisclosed amt) every month before the 15th, and then in May, pay a balloon payment to cover the deliquency and fees.
So, I jumped through all their hoops, spending all this time sending in the required paperwork, faxing this, doing that etc.
This plan started on 11/1/09. So, I paid the amt for November on the 2nd. And then for the December payment that was due on the 15th, I paid that on 11/30.
So, because it posted in November and not December, "the computer" kicked me off the plan for not paying. .. O.O yes seriously.
So, because I paid 1 day early, "the computer" (Notice how the company doesn't take the responsibility), kicked me off.
So can they fix it? Nope. I have to reapply for a new program, "And there will be more fee's since your payments are now considered late". WTF
How fair is that?? So because I paid 1 day EARLY, I get fucked?? I was even told I could pay early!
SO... after all this struggling to keep this house, its water problems, etc. I am thinking that we are going to walk away from the house (or I am also looking into a short sale). Since the house is not in Paul's name, we are going to try to get approved for a new mortgage through his veteran benefits. At least we will be able to find a house that costs 75% less than this one does. (There are homes selling for 20K on this very block!! our house is around 90K)
I tried to do the right thing, tried to pay the huge bill on this house even though we have no work, done everything the mortgage company asked... but this was the straw that broke the camels back.
Its amazing how they say its all the computer, and there is nothing they can do. Thats bull shit, so the computer has more authority then the person. :/
Comcast did similar shit today. They shut off my service b/c the payment was late (Which they got today). I have been with them since 2005, never made a late payment, and I was only $50.00 Late, and they cut off my internet. When I called they said, "The computer automatically does it." And tried to tell me they couldn't turn it back on until they got payment. I called WOW and began the process of switching services. When I tried to cancel Comcast, suddenly they had the power to turn it back on. Interesting.
