Spent the afternoon in the hospital. Emily's head got slammed onto a hard floor in a store. Sounded like someone dropped a bowling ball. She is ok. It sounded worse than it was apparently. The thing that really bothered me today, is we ran her to her normal doctor first, and we were sent out because we didn't have any health insurance anymore. Yes, they literally turned us away. They were unsympathetic. So we had to go to the Hospital. I could tell the injury didn't look really really bad, but I was afraid, due to how it sounded, that the injury might become internal or something. So I called the store's headquarters crying on the phone, explaining what happened. They were extremely caring and sympathetic. Told me to take her to the ER and where to send the bill. He sounded truly concerned and that made me really happy. The ER monitored her for a bit, and sent us home without further testing. The Dr. Said that there was no visible fractures or breaks and that she was acting good. They gave us a list of things to watch for.
It was the worse sound I had ever heard in my life. I was about 10 feet away looking at a book i was going to buy. Paul was with her near the toys. I suddenly heard loud gasps from people around, and then that sound. Like someone dropped a bowling ball on the floor. Then Emily was screaming. I dont even remember my feet crossing the distance, I had her in my arms, and we ran out of the store.
Straight to her Doctor, who turned us away like I said. Then to the ER.
I am SO thankful that she is alright. She was acting her normal self and there doesn't seem to be much swelling. I was glad I got the opinion of the Dr. though. Just to be safe.
After we got home, I was so emotionally exhausted, I fell asleep for hours. =(
