The Rock and Roll Age

Well I am now 27, it's my birthday for a little bit longer.

I tend not to make too much of a thing about it as getting older just keeps pointing out all the stuff I have failed to achieve. Also I had to go to work today because of that pesky end of month deadline we always have to work to. I guess that's part of being a grown up (that and being weirdly excited about the prospect of new stationary, seriously what's with that?)

Empire was quite fun on the whole, I had come to accept the fact I was functionally invisible* and just enjoying exploring Carinus' thoughts, feelings and strange compulsion to stand near the Sentinel Gate whenever he could. Then I went and spoiled it all by getting killed by orcs, oh well.

Confession time now, Urizen was never near the top of the cultures I was interested in playing. The thing is I probably shouldn't play reserved characters. I'm naturally kinda shy so having a roleplay brief that reinforces a certain amount of detachment doesn't help. I'm too good at it, give me someone with a reason to be quiet and you'll never hear from me again.

So anyway, I'm thinking of playing Dawn next, It means I get to be enthusiastic and maybe even bouncy and as long as I don't bottle it I'll have an excuse to talk to every single person on the field. Adventure awaits! There are wrongs to write and glory to be gained! (May your deeds live forever!)

I always like to have long term goals for characters. Carinus just wanted to be the best healer he could be, which was a decent idea but didn't prompt me to talk enough. This time around I'm kinda thinking that I'd like to start me own knightly order. I'm already dreaming too big but I'd love to create a group that outlived me (hell maybe I could be like Tom and end up the nemesis of people that followed my former character).

So in short, next time at Empire I'm going to learn if a man can change his stars.

Have a lovely day whatever you're up to.
