I responded Freja's post about this first but the same thing kind of rings true. So I will just put it below and add any commentary that seems fitting.

I consider myself to be a Taoist/Neo-pagan these days. I was wiccan for a long time. I celebrate the old ways in terms of holidays meaning Yule will be my winter holiday. I was raised Southern Baptist and still do the x-mas thing with the family but as far as my "holiday" goes Yule is it.

Presents... well I don't want anyone to feel obligated to get me anything as I can't afford to get everyone I like something. Sometimes if see something that is just too appropriate I will pick it up. I often do that year round. I try to show how much I value a person and their friendship by doing little things. Even if it just a card a shot at the bar.

If you like to get me something that is wonderful but PLEASE do not feel obligated to do so. I can't afford to really gift beyond my family and my best friend's family. As always, if I find something affordable and I know a person will love it I usually pick it up and just get for them. This is year around; not just x-mas time.

You are still at your grandfather's address from the years past? I need to make sure I have the right one to send you a card. :)

I don't really know what exactly Yule is or how one celebrates it.

I'm still at my Grandfather's address. What is your new address?

Yule is on or about the 21st of December. It is also known as the winter solistice. It is the shortest day of the year and longest night. After the solistice the sun starts to return more and more each day.

give me an email address and I will email you my snail mail addy.

I can see why you'd want to celebrate the returning of the light.
