New TV get!!

So we headed out to Nebraska Furniture Mart, also known as the Mecca of Consumerism, to pick up a new television to replace our dying tube HDTV. Originally, we were looking at getting a LG 42" 1080p model, which was on sale for $999. There were only two down sides to this plan. First, the TV was out of stock, so we would have had to order one and wait a couple of weeks. Second, the image quality was horrible, something we didn't learn until they actually started running a live HD feed (namely, the KC/Buffalo game) through all the TVs. So, hey, the Chiefs are good for something. :)

Right across from the LG, though, there was a 40" Sony Bravia. It was more expensive, but the image quality was just amazing. Smooth movement, little to no artifacts, and everything was crisp and sharp. All the bells and whistles, too - 1080p resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, 4 HDMI ports, etc. So, with the help of my dad's truck, we brought it home, along with two HDMI cables. Now, our 360 and our upconverting DVD player are working in beautiful 1080p.

One more thing off the list!

In other news, one of our best friends at church was officially ordained as a minister of the Evangelical Presbyterian church. My D&D Dungeon Master is now officially a reverend, and a Master of Divinity as well. I'm very glad that we were able to attend the event, even if we haven't been terribly good about attending church lately. I wouldn't have missed it for the world.
