Life is slowly starting to resemble some sort of normality again.
the_z is sleeping in our bed more often than not, Ein is back home with us (he was living with Z's mom for the first 2 weeks after we got back from the hospital), and we're starting to get out of the house a little more. Obviously, what is "normal" is going to be very different from what it was pre-baby, but we're beginning to see elements of our old routine coming back into our lives. One thing we have noticed is that we value any time we can spend together away from the baby, whether she's just sleeping in the next room or being babysat by Z's mom. Friday night, we were able to get out and do a little bit of shopping (sorry for missing your birthday,
katzchen, but I don't think we could have done dinner out). It feels odd when going out to Walmart or Border's is a treat and a breather, but I get the impression that it's what life is going to be like for the foreseeable future. I see ourselves making more official "dates" now, mostly so that we can arrange a sitter for Andromeda. We will be seeing PotC 3 on opening night, damnit. :)
Spent a good chunk of Saturday finally getting my office cleaned back up. I can see the top of my desk again! Funny what a couple of months of general neglect will do to a room, and even funnier how a couple of hours here and there is all it takes to get it back to a semblance of order. I still have other things to clean/dispose of (there's a pile of broken-down cardboard boxes in the garage, right next to the companion pile of packing styrofoam), but I think I can start getting ahead of the curve now. Before long, I'll be able to focus on other things, like getting my Tau army painted, or getting my computer upgraded again - I need a new case, and a DVD burner would be nice while I'm at it, and
the_z needs a DVD drive that's recent enough to read DVD-Rs.
