A little blurb in the "Local Roundup" section of the Rockford Register Star today:
Agencies team up for health exams today
ROCKFORD - Free health screenings will be offered from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today at THAT Place, 614 Seventh St.
HIV tests and blood pressure, glucose, cholesterol and prostate screenings will be done in a program sponsored by Aids Care Network, the Winnebago County Health Department, Crusader Clinic and THAT (Total Health Awareness Team) Place.
There will also be free hot dogs.
Now, I think this is a wonderful thing. But I can't help but laugh at the last line. Just in case people don't really care about getting checked out for serious ailments like AIDS or prostate cancer, at least the hotdogs will bring them in.
My head doesn't really hurt today, but I don't feel completely well. At least it's Friday.
