Hey, I was wondering if you still have this mix and can re-upload it. The link doesn't seem to contain the zip.
Funnily enough, I heard of A Separate Peace when someone on another site associated the song "Diminished" by R.E.M. with the story. Then I saw your post in fanmix right after I had gotten the book from the library, and looked forward to enjoying it. Only now, after having finished the book, I came back to get the mix.
The story is still seeping in and creeping up on me. Giving me real chills. I would love to hear this mix, if you'd be willing to share it again. :)
Oops, it looks like the link was working, even earlier... But the file name was the title of the first song only, which threw me off.
I've always loved "Cautioners." Listening and thinking about it in a new context now. It's awesome how you simply paired excerpts from the text with each song. :)
Yeah, I mentioned about the title somewhere in the entry. I would have fixed it, but it was giving me such a hassle x3 It's working still, though, which is good :D
And thank you. Usually when I see a fanmix, the author will put the song with lyrics from the song. I thought this put everything together more significantly, because I'm telling my potential listeners why and where this song fits in.
And "Cautioners" is such a gorgeous song, I agree. It was a complete stumbleupon find in my iTunes, too XD In fact, every artist/song in this mix was already in my iTunes (except Wintersleep) when I decided to make it.
Loving this mix. I've listened to it a couple times while at my part-time job wheeling a cart around through library stacks. (I'm a grad student.) I'm especially struck by how much I LOVE "The Shade of Poison Trees," "Two Birds," and "Blue Lips," although they are from artists I usually have a lower tolerance for. They fit well here. This fanmix actually enhances my experience of taking in the story, expanding the atmosphere a bit. =)
