Who is this Chase person and why is he a nutcase? Isn't it more fun to let people find out the hard way instead of warning them?

You sure you didn't fail just because you didn't do the work? I keep hearing you have to do work if you want to get through the classes.

Yeah.....that doesn't make no difference, see? He was just jealous to have with more brains and genius than him attendin' his class. Some teachers, I swear.

Geez, I need to nick something.

It totally does make a difference. If you don't put in the effort, why should you get anything? You've got to make people believe you want it. You've got to show everyone you deserve it. People need to know you're worth it.

Otherwise, you're out of luck, kid.

What are you, my parent? I'm very much old enough to understand these things on my own, see? Why should I listen to someone who's never been to school in the first place?

I get no respect, I say!

I'm not speaking strictly on terms of tutelage. We've got nothing like this where I come from. I just know life's based on survival, so why should this school thing be any different? I think in order to get anywhere, you've got to be able to use actions to prove that it's justified to obtain anything you've gotten.

Like I like treasure, right? I can't expect anyone to just hand it to me, so I'm either going to get it on my own, or I'm going to trade someone. One way or another, I'm exerting effort to get what I want. I don't see school any differently. If I want good "marks" I'm going to do whatever I think is called for. Makes sense, right?

I know as well as anyone else that ya need to take risks and put yer back into whatever ya do to haul in the rewards at the end. Lotsa people don't agree what I typically do for a livin' back home, so to take that same direct approach here don't exactly work for me, see? I don't know what you do for a living, miss, but life ain't a fairytale fer all of us.

And hey, I like treasures too!

'sides, it's not so much the grade as that Chase guy disrespectin' me, the Great Shadow Th-...anyhow, I'll show him, see?

Faerietales. Seriously? Princesses and princes might exist, but I wouldn't say I'm from a storybook or something like that.

Anyway, what do you plan on doing? Something people can sit in on and watch?

No offense, ya look like a genie woman to me. Exactly the kind ya see in those fairy tale books but without the green skin.

I was thinkin' more along the lines of sneaky and inconspicuous! Take his most valuable possession, see? *snicker* They don't call me the Shadow Thief fer nothin'!

Yeah. I guess I do. Sorry. I don't grant wishes, unless your wish is to see a beautiful woman. I can grant that many a time with no problems.

...You're talking my kind of language. If thieving's your kind of thing, we're on the same page. You actually know what his prized possession is?

Hey, that works fer me!

Thievin's what I do fer a living! I'm afraid I ain't no Robin Hood though, heheh. I don't know if he's got anything worth stealin' yet, but I intend to find out! Even if the guy's empty, I'll mess him up some other way, see?

As long he learns to never mess with a thief again!

You and I have something in common. I've got a fondness for taking things that aren't mine, but I can't say I share the wealth either. I like keeping things; I like physical possessions. Guess you and I are going to be seeing eye-to-eye then. At least on a few things.

If you need help, you let me know. I'm always willing to lend a hand to a fellow thief--assuming I can get something out of it.
