dundie night - jim/mark - jim's dundies - pg.lifescriptFebruary 16 2008, 00:26:08 UTC
when jim leaves the chili's that night, he thinks things will be different. because pam, despite the copious amount of alcohol she'd consumed, had kissed him. and it was just a peck, hardly anything, but he thinks he could taste the beer on her breath, and what he thought was strawberry lipgloss, and maybe even the spearmint gum she'd been chewing at work. and outside, in the chilly night air, he thinks pam will ask him to drive her home. and in the car, outside her house, they'll kiss for real. he'll find out her lipgloss is actually cherry, not strawberry, which he likes better anyway. they'll make it into the house and they won't do anything but kiss, because she's drunk and he's way too happy, but she'll promise things with roy are over. and they'll fall asleep in her bed, fingers laced together, and they'll wake up and not regret it

Wow. To be totally honest, I wasn't sure I was going to be up for this pairing. But it's my drabble-a-thon and I'm determined to read everything everyone posts. And this was fantastic! You completely changed my mind.
Everything was just so real, and you portrayed Jim so well, wanting Pam and not getting her and keeping the Dundies but never looking at them. It was just such a great picture of him, and such a great picture of his relationship with Mark as well.
Fabulous, fabulous job! And thank you soo much for being the one to get our 'other' drabbles kicked off so well!
I really hope to see more from you. Because this was great!

Haha awww, that's such a compliment! Thank you so very much. I'm glad I could change your mind, haha. I love unconventional pairings, and I don't know, if I got to come home to Jim every night I'm pretty sure I'd want to be closer than the average buddy... ;)
I was nervous about posting first, haha. I was waiting for someone else to do it then I thought "screw it" and went ahead. I hope it was okay! :) Thanks for the review.
PTA; Toby/Carol; Mr. Cellophane; PGlz1982February 16 2008, 23:45:26 UTC
Toby thought the blonde woman at the PTA meeting looked familiar. Then he realized it was Michael's ex, Carol. Oh, God, he thought, ducking his head when she turned towards him. But she was only waving to a friend who had just come in.
After the meeting, when they ran into each other at the snack table, she said, "Hi, I'm Carol."
"Hey. Toby. I think we...um, have we met?"
"Have we?" she said. "Oh, jeez. You probably come to these meetings every month, don't you? I'm sorry, I'm terrible with faces."
"No, I just joined, actually. I, uh...I work at Dunder Mifflin?"
Two-second delay; then, "Oh, yeah, yeah, of course! Sure. I just, I'm sorry, I know I met all you guys, but...Michael was just so, um, such a force of...something, that--"
Re: PTA; Toby/Carol; Mr. Cellophane; PGlz1982February 17 2008, 04:45:49 UTC
I've been wanting to ship Toby/Carol for a while. Besides the fact that I can actually sort of seeing them together, it's totally worth it for the way Michael would react. So I thought this prompt would be a good way to test it out.
And also, a while ago I made an Office playlist that used "Mr. Cellophane" as the song for Toby. The whole thing was just destiny. :)

Oh, this is just awesome.
Its so perfectly Toby with his adorable sad-sackness (I don't stick. Awesome) but then that other equally lovable layer of dryness at the end with Micheal is going to love this. Best last line ever.
You've made the whole thing seem totally feasible and it's really great.
the notebook - ryan/kelly - chick flick - pg.lifescriptFebruary 17 2008, 20:43:51 UTC
it's a typical thursday night for ryan. it's typical now, anyway; back in college, this would have been anything but. he's at kelly's house, three light beers in, his arm wrapped around her shoulders. she's snuggling up to him as close as possible, sighing at the tv screen every few seconds

This was great! I'm normally not a big Ryan/Kelly fan, but this was a great, great picture of their relationship. I loved how you really showed reasons why Ryan would want to stay. It made me like them soo much more! And LOL at pissing off the neighbors! Great touch.
Great job! And thank you so much for contributing!

This was lovely!
it's all of those things and more. I like this because though Ryan tries really hard to be one, he is not a heartless bum. And there had to be more than one reason he did stay with Kelly for as long as he did.
Rainbow Connection - Andy - his first a cappella audition - G.sunshine_hippieFebruary 17 2008, 21:51:53 UTC
"O.K., can we please have Andrew Bernard?" the auditor asked. It aws audition day at Cornell University...they recently started a choir and were asking for falsetto singers. As always, Andy rised to the occasion.
"Hello," he said politely has he walked on stage, "My name is Andrew Bernard and today I will be singing 'The Rainbow Connection' made famous by the muppet, Kermit the Frog." The auditors rolled their eyes, but allowed him to continue. Andy cleared his throat before beginning,
"So we've been told and some choose to be-lieve it! I think they're wrong wait a seeeeeee...." Andy continued to slaughter the song for about 30 more seconds before he heard a snicker from the auditors.
"I'm sorry...I'm sorry," the auditor said gasping for breath, composing himself. "I just think this isn't for you." The auditors continue to un-successfully hide their laughter as the glum Andy walked off stage.
One Round At A Time; Hunter/Karen; can I buy you a round?; PGgirlie_girl_23February 18 2008, 05:36:59 UTC
She feels him before she sees him. He slips onto the barstool next to her, and before she even glances over, she can feel his body heat. He is sitting very close to her.
She finishes her vodka tonic, trying to ignore him, whoever he is. But he isn't having any of that. "Can I buy you a round?" he asks, and the voice is vaguely, very vaguely, familiar.
She turns and takes him in, dark eyes staring at her, penetrating her. She knows him, had seen him only a few hours ago. A few hours that now feel like lifetimes. He had been at Corporate. He was Jan's assistant. What was his name? Heath? Homer? He leans even closer to her. HunterShe bites her bottom lip for a moment before nodding. Yes, he can buy her a round. He motions to the bartender while she does her best to ignore the fact that she's already had three rounds by herself, that Halpert had dumped her by a fountain, that everything in her life is slowly falling apart
