Now the real work begins.

I am overjoyed that Obama won.

I'm wearing an American flag bandanna without a hint of irony, and a University of Chicago t-shirt with only the slightest hint, and my Thereminists for Obama button.

Let's not make the same mistakes they made. )

politics, items, stuff

We can gloat quietly amongst ourselves, just not in mixed company.

Would the ear-to-ear grin that I am wearing be considered gloating? The new sense of lightness that I am feeling? 'cause that was all the gloating I was really going to do anyway. I want to enjoy the moment(s), but not at the expense of rolling up my sleeves, along with my fellow americans (I have never used that phrase without irony before), and getting back to work. It is nice to feel as though that work will be supported and appreciated, now, instead of it feeling like trying to dig a pit in dry sand.

That's not gloating. Or if it is, it's not the kind I'm saying to don't to do. I'm mostly talking about the "neener neener neener" stuff.

Now the real work begins

I only hope that folk remember that there's a lot of mess to clean up and not to expect Obama to solve all our woes

Otherwise.... WOOO-FREEKIN-HOOOO!!!
