Voices in your heads.

I recently posted a comment in someone's LJ, and I wanted to share some of that here. There's a bunch of great stuff in there, but it's a bit too mixed in with specific stuff about that person's situation, and I wanted to keep this more general, so I'm just reposting the last bits, by which point I had rambled so far from what they were actually interested in that it could be in response to nearly anything.

Listen to the voices in your head. I don't mean actual voices. If you're hearing real voices, that's a different issue.

But there is a huge source of information deep inside you. The animal parts of you, the subliminal parts of you, and I believe, the spiritual parts of you. The voice is a quiet voice, a subtle voice, a confident voice. The signal from this voice is sometimes overrun with noise from your own expectations and attachments and desires and insecurities, but it's got a tone all it's own.

And that's something you can practice, you can work on that. I recommend taking a wrong turn while driving. A couple times a week. Listen for the voice telling you to get off one exit early, or take side streets instead of the main road, or go left when your destination is to the right. Obviously, if you're "trying", you might hear the noise of your expectations instead of the voice. But that's okay, because you're primed to hear the voice. It won't say much, just enough to put you on the right path. See where you end up. Sometimes, the design is unknown to you, and you seem to arrive somewhere random. At some point, you may notice "coincidences" with greater frequency than should be expected. That's just a little note telling you that you're hearing the voice.

Wow, I've never typed that stuff up before. That's a bit crazy, but that's my way. I'm going to have to put this in my own journal now. Thanks for the opportunity to spout this madness!
