Holidays couldn't last forever. Which probably explained why Donna was knee-deep in mud, soaking wet, freezing cold and three miles from the bleedin' TARDIS. Warm tropic suns, the Doctor had said. Glorious sunny beaches, he'd promised. The greatest meteor shower this side of the galaxy. Too bad they'd landed a decade too early in the middle of ( Read more... )

Donna kisses his cheek. "Yeah, yeah. I know we have to. I suppose when we bring Gramps back safe and well would be a good time. Less chance of an argument."

There's a slight knock at the TARDIS door.

The Doctor opens the door, hopefully to find Wilf on the other side. Soon, they'll be off and into the time vortex.

Wilf grins bright and steps inside. "Good to be back in the Old Girl, eh, lad?"

Donna rests her hands on her hips, looking between her two favourite men. "About that! No more secret adventures you two. Got it?"

"Oh yes!" The Doctor exclaims, ushering him in and closing the door behind him. "Off we go!"

The Doctor, of course...promptly ignores Donna's demands.

Huff. Donna feels like she'll be doing a lot of damage control and a lot of making sure they don't get into their usual dangers! After all, her grandad is an old man, and the only gramps she has.

The Doctor gets the TARDIS up and out of Chiswick. "Donna, do you want to show your Gramps to a room?" The TARDIS will show them where he's allowed to go. There will always be a room for Rose.

She nods and leads Wilf out of the console room and along the corridor to an available room that the TARDIS has already altered to a look and feel she thinks the old man will like.

She leaves her grandad to settle into his new room and heads back to join the Doctor by the console.

"So, where should we take him this time? I can't promise that we won't get into trouble. I mean, it seems to find me, not the other way around," he says honestly, settling on the chair near the console.

"Somewhere relatively safe. A meteor shower or a pretty planet or sommat. I just don't want him getting hurt."

"I don't either, but it's not like I can predict what's going to happen...really. Each person has their own...fate, if you will. Their time line is their own."

"I know, I know. But let's try at least?"

"Yeah, we should. It would be really great to pilot her to wherever we want her to go. But, sometimes she has her own mind. I'll try my best."

That earns him a firm kiss on the lips. Donna grabs his face and smooches.

Wilf walks in, giving a low chuckle. "Aye, aye. Should leave you love birds to it?"

This startles the Doctor and an uncharacteristic blush comes to his cheeks. "Uh, no. So, Wilf, where would you like to go?"

Donna flushes and steps away from the Doctor, resting her hands on the console instead. Busted.

"Oh, I dunno lad. You pick. You're the expert."

"Okay, I thought I'd give you the choice. I usually ask most people I'm fond of, where they want to go," he shrugs, then thinks on it. "How about...Argolis. It's been a while since I've been there. Only catch is that there's a 'Leisure Hive'...somewhat like the building you were in on Midnight, Donna. Radiation and all that," he explains. "Could go take a spin and go to New New France or Italy. We've already been to New New Switzerland," he smiles at Donna.
