Player's Name: Angie
LJ: the princess formally known as charmwitch (still charmwitch )

Character: Sapphire Rhodonite
Series: Disgaea 3: Absence of Justice
Version: Newly Wed Queen, Endgame (Although Almaz still calls her princess, forgive me if I slip a bit too.)
Age: 17
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Heterosexual and Married!
Appearance: Sapphire is a young, seventeen year old queen from the human world. She stands at at about roughly 5'5'', an average height for young ladies her age. Most people would probably notice her silken, silvery white hair. It actually sparkles in the sunlight, so try not to stand so close or you might get something in your eye. Her hair is very important to Sapphire, as it was loved much by her late mother and thus she's kept it long to retain her memory. It's also grown to exponential lengths, although she somewhat keeps it pinned back underneath for some convenience. In keeping her hair back, Sapphire wears a small, silver and blue gemmed crown circlet that matches the rest of her attire. Speaking of her clothing, it's completely focused on keeping that whole gemstone look in place.

As a warrior princess, Sapphire must be ready to destroy her foes at any moment's glance. She wears a short blue-pleated dress and white jacket that underlays her heavy armor. She wears a silvery breastplate, and gauntlets over her clothing. To go with this whole 'armored' theme, she's also seen sporting him laced up blue boots and matching stylish blue knee guards.

In describing this, one may think this doesn't sound very princessy or queen like, but once you set your eyes on her lovely face, you'd think otherwise! Sapphire has a lovely heart shaped face, oddly enough though, she appears to be tanned or dark skinned. Whether this is genetic or not is unknown, Sapphire may just be a beachaholic for all we're aware. It does provide a lovely contrast for hear white hair and large green eyes which have freaking stars in them. Stars! I'm not kidding here, Ms. Sapphire's eyes reflect light in the form of stars. It just makes her more magical, and princess-y. I mean, really. Sometimes it feels like she just jumped out of a storybook or something.

Other than that, she's really a typical girl.
Really! ... Okay, maybe not. I guess we'll continue onto what she's like.

Personality: Sapphire is an interesting young woman, she appears to be like any girl her age until... well, until you actually start talking to her. Or maybe you see her in battle and then you know something is -definitely- wrong here. As the sole protector of her kingdom, Sapphire is without a doubt, a killing machine. She fights off demons and enemies with ease and grace. She enjoys the sounds of battle and finds nothing more thrilling than being able to devastate her foes in a smooth clean action. Her motto is 'first to strike, first to kill', and she takes this in every aspect of her life.

She's usually a very friendly and polite young lady, though! I mean, sure, killing is great and all but a Queen must be polite and well spoken! When she meets new people, Sapphire always does her best to make friends with them, if that happens to backfire... well, they usually end up being her enemies whom she must destroy. Ahem. When she speaks, Sapphire tends to be very curious and ask many questions. Although her world teaches humans to hate demons, she found that she's much like them in many aspects. This does have it's drawbacks, though- many of her servants have whispered tales of her being unable to cry at all. They consider her cold and heartless from afar, but it's truly not her fault she can't cry. Sapphire, physically, can not shed tears when she's sad. In developing her relationship with her husband, it's soon unveiled that in actuality Sapphire cries in moments of happiness. When relief overtook her body, she couldn't stop the tears from falling as she sobbed into the jacket of the boy she loved~ Ah, so sweet!

...She's still a killing machine, though. In retrospect, Sapphire's very sweet tempered and she seems to have a terrible weakness to cute things! Whether it be dolls, teddy bears, cute little demon girls or adorable little fuzzy animals, Sapphire can't help but pick up and cuddle whatever is in front of her. It truly is her terrible weakness, I hope no enemy dares to try to use this dastardly against her-! Even so, her husband is there to protect her because really- that's what he does when she's not the one saving his hide.
Sapphire is extremely curious and at times can be very blunt. She tends to use force to get her point across when words don't work, but for friends she's always very caring. It's really her own little way of showing she cares, even if some hero wannabes are a little oblivious to notice.

Hmm, what else? Sapphire is afraid of losing people, she's afraid of losing Almaz the most because he puts himself at risk in order to protect her and... she greatly dislikes that. She wants to take care of herself, she doesn't want to lose more loved ones. Many have proclaimed to protect the princess but none have returned, and unfortunately Sapphire feels extreme guilt at not even being able to cry about this. She promptly tells Almaz not to die or disappear on her, because she won't even be able to cry for him if he did. No matter how hard she tried, she couldn't cry from sorrow... and even now I think Sapphire feels she may only be a burden to others because of her title as princess (now Queen).

In the end, Sapphire wants to continue fighting to become the strongest in the world. I believe this is so that she won't lose anyone else, so that she can keep everyone safe. In the end, she fights to stop the pain she and many others feel in their heart when someone they love is lost.

Abilities/Weaponry/Strengths:

There's many things this little lady can do, she's been trained in wrestling moves, she can kill a man with her fists, but strangest of all is … well, her ability to be an excellent healer. Sapphire's magical abilities seem a little all over the place, she can summon animals to help her fight in the moonlight, she can cast ice attacks, and she has a unicorn summon that can heal everyone. How nifty! Oh, but where she truly shines is in her hand to hand and weapon combat skills. This lady is deadly, don't get me wrong, as cute as she may look she'll likely hellstrike you if you flip her skirt up or have very bad manners. In battle, Sapphire tends to stick with raw power, either using a gun to fight or a heavy axe. I prefer axes, because that just helps in the terrifying image she gives off when she's prancing on the battlefield with all of her magical, fairytale friends.

Her weapon masteries include light swords, heavy axes, magical attacks, and... guns. Guns! In fact, she actually meets her husband by shooting him in the face. It was love from the start, what can I tell you?

Weaknesses:

As mentioned in her personality section, Sapphire has a terrible weakness for cute things. She will run headfirst into danger if she sees something cute. She won't care to check her surroundings or anything, her life has been at stake before when she picked up a deadly doll laced with poison. Fortunately, again, her husband was around to keep her from harm. She wants to squeeze things and keep them forever and ever if they're super cute! It's such an odd weakness, I wonder if she finds it easy to protect something that's cute, you know?

Another... problem with Sapphire is her inability to physically cry during events of sorrow. As much as she's wanted to, all her life she was unable to cry. Even at her mother's funeral, she found herself unable to make tears. She truly loved her mother, the former Queen, and instead chose to clip her hair slightly to show her grief. All of her life, she's turned her inability to cry into something else- she's decided to become physically strong if she can't show emotion. She's learned to fight, but at the cost of looking cold and distant from others. She carries a heavy guilt in her heart at all of the lives lost due to her, she hates that people would go to great lengths to keep her out of danger because she's a princess. She's seen many heroes go to the Netherworld only to never come back and not once was she able to cry for them.

In a way, Sapphire leads a destructive path to either become the strongest or perish in battle. Either path seems okay with her, deep down she feels like she came to the Netherworld to just... disappear, so that no one else would have to suffer on her account.

Hmm, another weakness could also be for her that she's sometimes not aware of her own strength. She tends to overuse her strength and destroy things, sometimes even in the most illogical manner. She'll try a chainsaw on you, for example. You should survive! … Right?

History:

Once upon a time, there was a great hero in the Human World who protected it from Overlords and other demons. He was so greatly known, he became this kingdom's national symbol, he's printed on all currency in this land. This was 200 years ago, when said hero was still alive. One day, the great Sir Aurum left to take care of an Overlord and it was rumored he disappeared, never to be seen again. Even so, his stories left a great impact, even in the modern world today do people speak of his name.

Many even choose to be like him. As is the tale of Almaz.
Princess Sapphire grew up inside the castle walls of her and Almaz's kingdom. She knew of the tales of this great hero, who took down demons in a single stroke. Because of his actions, humans have always known demons to be bad and only up to no good. It was just common teachings of the day, and most of the population grew to know this. Princess Sapphire was no exception, but she's always been the curious sort. Every day and night she would study and work hard, she was very popular with current media. Wherever she went, there would always be rumors about her strength and her eagerness to go into battle. This normally doesn't bother her, I mean- she was born into royalty, there wasn't much she could do about it. She pretty much went along with it and grew to have a very pleasant personality.

It wasn't until the day of her mother's passing did her life slowly start to take a different direction. Her mother, the beloved Queen of their Kingdom, suddenly passed away. It was a terrible time, as it seems this particular kingdom was ruled by the Queen, not a King. Princess Sapphire was devastated by her sudden tragedy, but she found she could not cry at all. Her mother, someone so important in her life, was not someone she could even shed tears for. To add insult to injury, rumors spread around the castle about her cold heart towards the Queen. As the heir to the throne, she had to brush off what her subjects were speaking of her behind her back. When she was alive, Sapphire's mother loved the young princess's beautiful hair. It was one of her most treasured things, so the young princess secretly cut off a lock of her hair and placed it in her mother's coffin to show her that she mourned her mother and loved her.

No one noticed except for a few people, Sapphire's grandmother scolded her severely and her father also noticed the change in one lock's length. Beyond that, many knew not of the princess's sorrow... except for one awkward guard who was stationed at the castle.

The very night of her mother's funeral, the princess couldn't sleep. It was true, she was cold and heartless to not be able to cry for her very own mother. On a late night walk, she heard the voice of a young man who stood up for her. He noticed, that day he noticed the small change in her hair. As other guards taunted and called him a loser, Almaz held a great believe in his princess. Although she did not know his name, she would always remember that voice she heard that night. He had stood up for her and seen through to her. It was not something she would forget.

Fast forward a few years, princess Sapphire has made a name for herself as the sole protector of her kingdom. She refuses to have people fight for her, or to go to the Netherworld to fight in her name. Rumors began to spread (this is common in human worlds isn't it) again, this time about a nefarious plot concocted by the Overlord of a neighboring Netherworld who wanted to kidnap the fair princess. Fearing for the lives of people who would try to protect her, Princess Sapphire went alone to this Netherworld to destroy the Overlord herself.

And so begins the tale of this Princess and her Hero.

The Netherworld adjacent to the Human World she reigned from was, of all things, a school. She decided to become a transfer student into the Nether Institute, Evil Academy so that she could learn more about demons and eventually get close and eliminate the head dean, who also was the current Overlord! On her way to school, Sapphire found herself making... many … friends. Well, she was surrounded by monsters who probably wanted to eat her, but she was fretting terribly much about being late that she began annihilating them all. Nearby, an unlucky wannabe hero and demon overheard the commotion and came to her aid. In trying to help her, Almaz, the unlucky fool, was shot by the princess and made the absolute worst impression he could have possibly made in front of her.

Anyway, fast forward. Princess joins these unlucky travelers and becomes their new classmate! She instantly calls them her friends, to which Mao, the demon, heavily disagrees with. It's later that the Princess learns that this young boy is actually the son of the Overlord she wants to kill. She contemplates offing him there in order to get him out of the way, but she decides against it to learn more about the situation at hand. It's not clearly stated when, but Princess recognizes that Almaz was the boy who stood up for her many years ago. Although he's made many terrible mistakes in his attempts to pleas the princess and protect her, she does everything in her power to help him reach his goal of being a hero. She asks for nothing back... then again, she's usually beating him down to the ground or knocking some straight sense into him. As time goes on, Almaz eventually asks her why she's helping him... only for Princess to swiftly say that she likes him and then conveniently change the subject. Through their time together in figuring out Mao's plight (SEE HAYLEY'S APPLICATION FOR ALL 2093824394 DISORDERS MAO MAY HAVE) I believe that Princess truly falls in love with Almaz. She firmly tells him about her mother and how she can't cry. In revealing these pieces of information, Princess Sapphire asks Almaz to never make her cry. She would be sad if anything happened to him, but she wouldn't even be able to mourn him like her mother.

Almaz does indeed promise... Unfortunately, he ends up having to break that promise for the sake of his friend's heart. After an attempt on the princess's life via a stuffed animal laced with poison, Almaz becomes very sick but shields it from his friends. Mao has gone over the edge, wanting to destroy the human world after a startling revelation was let out involving the great Sir Aurum. The hero from 200 years ago still lived, and he has plot to kill them all and manipulate Mao for the sake of creating the greatest Overlord of all time. Sir Aurum had certainly fallen from the grace he had known as a hero, he resorted to crafting a nefarious plan in order to get what he wanted. He cared not to save people or keep the world from harm, he only cared for his own glory and honor. In truth, Sir Aurum was the one to spread the rumor about the Princess's eventual kidnapping by the Overlord, which lead Almaz to come to her rescue in the Netherworld and thus be sucked into this whole disarray. It's such a mess, but none the less, ultimately Almaz perished in trying to stop Mao from going over the edge and destroying the human world. I should back up a little, Mao was betrayed severely by Sir Aurum, his wound caused him to lash out at the human world where this hero originated from. If all else failed, Princess was supposed to take care of Mao herself.

Of course, she was not expecting Almaz to suddenly succumb to his curse/illness as they reached the entrance to the human world. Sapphire breaks down, she tells Almaz not to leave her and to hold on, but it was much too late. She begins to pinch her face and cover it from everyone to see. She still can't cry, even with Almaz gone she still can't cry for him. Raspberyl tells her to stop pinching herself, but Princess begins to apologize to Almaz for her lack of tears. This is why she didn't want him to die or leave her, she wouldn't even be able to mourn him and he'd gone off and done it anyway. That jerk. At some point or another, Mao has to face his dark self as he struggles to come into understanding as to why Almaz did such a thing. He's not allowed to die! An ensuing battle occurs and through a series of events involving being stuck in limbo, Mao opening his heart and expressing sorrow for his lost friend, and Almaz retaining his title as hero - …the newly reborn hero comes back to life! Yay! Much to the relief of Sapphire, who asks if she can touch him to see if he's really real. In his moment of embarrassment, Almaz doesn't really know how to react to have the princess ~*~touch him~*~ like such, but he begins to realize that tears have fallen down her face. When princess herself realizes this, she becomes ecstatic-! She's crying! She's crying for Almaz! … and eventually she begins to ball her freaking eyes out about how happy she is that he's back and that he -can't do that ever again-! The crew starts wondering how such a miracle even happened in the first place...

… only for their eyes to veer towards Mao, who's heart finally opened to emotions like love and friendship. Anyway! The true villain has been unveiled, Mao has his heart opened, and Almaz finally gained the title of becoming a hero! The only step left is to now stop the terrible villain, Sir Aurum, from continuing his plot and somehow at some point we'll get to this happy ending, okay? As they battle against the final boss in Mao's own home, Princess realizes that he was the one who poisoned Almaz with that killer doll. ...Annnyway, some more fast forwarding, at the end the POWER OF LOVE AND FRIENDSHIP saves the day and Mao is able to make amends with his emotions and his father. Time passes after the defeat of the Super Hero from the human world, and off in the distance...

… the sounds of wedding bells can be heard. As the human world rejoices, a young princess is eventually crowned queen with her new husband and hero of their kingdom. Opting for an unconventional wedding, Queen Sapphire decides to have their honeymoon in the Netherworld. After vows were said, they quickly returned to the place they feel more at home.

Oh, and what happens after? That, truly, is yet another story.

I should mention that I really don't think Almaz and Princess have actually kissed or hugged or even held hands. I mean, they mention it quite often that Almaz never is ever going to really get some, so Sapphire holds his hand and he seems very happy with that. Little baby steps! Baby steps! That's how their relationship is working, okay? I mean, come on. She's the girl of his dreams, he's totally too shy to even attempt anything.

Right, I'm not Rping Almaz here- anyhoo! So that's that. Eventually they'll wind up in Pieshow for one reason or another. Paixao. Right. Sorry. I'll remember not to slip that.

Oh, right. I really should stress, she's technically a Queen now ... but everyone still calls her princess. It's okay, she can be some sort of doofangle princess if she really wants to be.
