There is a lot of suffering which you can come into if you accept the bible literally and brush off ALL your doubts and don't recognize the way of reason, spirit and logic in your learning of religion. For example, many christians nowadays are very scared of other religions, and much effort is made to discredit these and not to allow yourself to learn from them.
I believe the christian God Himself is part of a pantheon. Jehovah is probably one of the deepest and biggest Gods there can be, but like the other gods he has sons and daughters that work together with him and need to be approached too. So don't ignore what science has found about the evolution of theology and spiritual knowledge in the bible, combined with what we know of human religious history. Don't only think that only God the Father has any power, it's often not about power but about spirit and spirit is the prime gift of every God.
And don't think that ancient religious rule collections like the Torah or church books or purity books and such can be such good guides if you don't see the multiple meaning of the verses that must be found to put aside the literal meaning. There is vast depth in religion and history, so don't make it an abyss of judgment and damnation and instead search for the light and love in it. Then the patience of the Gods will flood you and you can live under their care and charity.
