Well that gets me too.. history was erased and yet there are still legends of the last centurian? So Rory is a robot or isn't a robot depending on the day? That would have made more sense for Amy not being able to have kids. It's stupid.
And the doctor is toting around with a gun?? WTF?? That annoyed me the fact he wasn't all reluctant and no I will not use this... that scene with David was so beautiful and the western just made it so mocking.
I have a friend who for the past few episodes has said it's not very plot driven but it's not about the plot. Well, for those of us much less interested in Matt's butt - it actually *is* about the plot or the lack of it.
It's so damn frustrating. This show was so good for so long... and now I'm like... dear lord. Bring back K9 at least he wasn't as wooden. Rory was fine, Brian was great... but I got over Amy when it was the "I'm in love with my boyfriend but I'm going to try and keep kissing you doctor!" show and then the "Oh he is the most amazing man in the universe and he will save me. I'm waiting for you.... Rory!" (x40. I saw it coming so it wasn't all that powerful the first time but after the 600th time of using that device I'm afraid it got a bit old.)
Oh I'd forgotten about her parents... I guess they had a big fight that Amy wouldn't tell them what it was about and they haven't seen her since. Maybe they kept asking when they were going to get grandchildren. I mean it's not as the doctor was a secret - he landed the tardis at her wedding. Which I also thought was stupid personally... she's the only one who can remember him? Bah. The only thing I've liked out of all of this is River. Well and Brian.
There were so many missed opportunities to draw parallels between Rory and the Doctor that didn't just pertain to the dumb love triangle they kept waving at us. Like, if Rory remembers his 2000 years as a centurion, wouldn't that make him technically older than the Doctor? Couldn't they connect over that? Instead of only really being linked by Amy and their mutual desire to see her never, ever change or grow as a person? Bah.
And I am so with you re: Amy. I thought she was cool until she basically assaulted the Doctor (but it's hilarious because it's a girl doing it, of course), and given how eager she was to cheat on Rory, I never actually bought their supposed Epic Lurve despite their sudden, random attempts to sell it.
Personally, I'd just love to see a companion who doesn't fit Moffat's one and only Young Female Character mold, but there's no way that's going to happen.
Yeah it made me so sad what they did with her. When they wiped Donna's memories... I cried. I still feel that ache thinking about it because you could see just HOW far she'd come as a character.
Amy and the Doctor were playmates. Not companions. Play mates. Rory was the grown up.
I think perhaps they were trying to show that she did love Rory more after all because she chose to go with him instead of the doctor - it might have been more convincing if we hadn't had "She loves the doctor more oh wait no she doesnt" which I've complained about probably every time I've commented to you lol.
I don't even know what the mythos of the angels is anymore. I mean there were ways. Why can't they see River again exactly? She can travel around time just as easily as the doctor.
That police guy saw Sally Sparrow years later (for him) in Blink.
Mind you I'm still stuck at the snapping necks thing. That just killed it for me.
