It's amusing for me to see the reactions on my Flist. It ranges from "I loved it" *no explanation*, to "GOD OH GOD OH GOD WHAT THE HELL IS THIS CRAP?".
I watched it after spoiling myself (although I don't know if I should call it that. I guessed most of this anyway). It wasn't as horrible as I was expecting but it felt like an outline for a story rather than an actual fully realised plot. Shortly before the end, I thought we were finally getting somewhere. That last scene with Amy was ridiculously drawn out.
Amy: I'm going! I'm TOTALLY GOING NOW! Doctor: *does nothing to stop her* Nooooooooooooooo! Amy: Going I am! Doctor: No, no, no, don't, please, noooooooo! River: YESTH! Doctor: What? NO. No, no, no, River make her stop, like... with your hands or something because mine aren't working apparently. Amy: I AM LEAVING NOW. Doctor: Noooooooooo! Etc.
And it's very wrong but I laughed when Rory tried to kill himself and said how he always comes back to life when she asks the, admittedly poor, rhetorical question "do you think you'll just come back?" HE HAS DONE IT AT LEAST TEN TIMES NOW AMY.
My favorite line in the entire episode, true to form for me of course, was: "I always wanted to see the Statue of Liberty ... I guess she got impatient."
