I can't wait for chapter 5, so let me guess--Nan ends up with a fractured skull, a shattered spine, and severe internal bleeding that she describes as "Oh, my ankle!" and is cured after a good night's sleep?

Well, a good night's sleep might take care of the internal bleeding, but the fractured skull would take milk and cookies to cure, and it's a well-known fact in the medical community that a shattered spine can only be fully healed by the concentrated loving gazes of family members.

Yeah, but that only works on Gallifrey. Also works for PTSD and abrupt and inexplicable personality changes.

And, as we all know, if you're NOT on Gallifrey, a little make-out session will totally solve any problems your human sidekick may be suffering. ;)

Also, I approve of that icon!

I made the mistake of reading fanficrants the other day and endured people saying that the Doctor would likely kill himself if he ever hurt Rose. OR if he didn't a)spontaneously regenerate by the sheer power of his own emo/self-hatred/angst/grief, b)kill himself to trigger a regeneration, c)purposefully screw up so as to regenerate, d)kill himself outright and for good, he would force himself to settle down and live a domestic life ALONE* (*this is very important) for the remainder of his regenerations as punishment.

... Poor Peri, huh? The Doctor almost chokes her to death and he never even TRIED to kill himself. Jerkface.

... I don't know whether to headdesk, or to burst into gales of hysterical laughter. GOOD GRIEF.

Firstly: I think it's pretty safe to say that since Time Lords have multiple lives and have been known to regenerate for cosmetic purposes, they probably don't share the average human's feelings about penitential suicide. The human equivalent would be something like, "Oh my god, I can't believe I've hurt you! I'm going to throw out my current pair of shoes and buy a new pair as an expression of my grief and self-loathing!" Even if you're really fond of your current pair of shoes, it seems a silly and arbitrary form of penance ( ... )

6 didn't even apologise when he realised that she was serious- that he had tried to kill her. He just went 'waugh! I'm a living peril to the UNIVERSE! I have to become a hermit!' and then was all 'oh, that hermit thing was just an exaggeration... you know.'

Oh, the OP did eventually say that they meant *10* and that they 'forget about Classic Who' so she'd just gone on about 'The Doctor.' It's not her fault that she hasn't seen the old stuff and so doesn't know how OOC 9 and 10 are compared to 1 through 8.

Even so, no: the Doctor- even 10 - isn't that emotionally dependent on anyone that he'd kill himself over them (or whatever the Time Lord equivalent would be). As you say, he destroyed his entire race and that presumably includes his relatives. But against all logic, he'd go over the edge for Rose Tyler because she is the avatar of any member of the audience infatuated with DT and is therefore of more importance than ANYTHING.

Hahaaa, I love it!

6: "I almost killed you? SERIOUSLY?? OMGAH, I must isolate myself from everything lest I hurt..."

Peri: "... Me?"

6: "No, foolish girl, THE COSMOS."

Aaahh. Well, given the way Ten was written, I suppose we can't blame her TOO much. ;P

*\o/* for your strikethrough. That is pretty apt, my friend.

Ahahaha, thanks so much--I've been trying for ages to find a way to articulate this and your wording is just right!
