[Action - for 1252 Williams Road]

[A sleepy-eyed Dexter is staring at what appears to be a large pile of junk set out on the curb by his driveway.  It's largely technological and nature, and there are what might be half-finished devices sticking out of it.]

Alright, I am positive that I did not throw these out.  Most of this is working, even!  Well, ( Read more... )

[Given the way her mind kept switching between droning and...her the day before, this morning is a rough one, and she's happy to hear a familiar voice.]

I--don't think you want to remember it, Dexter.

Honestly, if I have done something horrible, I'd rather remember it than not. At least I'd know how to fix it.

I don't think it'd be horrible so much as...embarrassing. [She might have ended up at a barbecue at some point. It's a bit hazy with the constant struggling.]

Between the Doctor and Donna, I don't think there's anything embarrassing I can't remembering having done at some point.

[He sighs.] Seriously, Rose, just come out and say it. You needn't try to - protect me or something.

[Ah, if he could see her amused expression at his admission...well face-to-face communication is just easier to change subjects with, obviously.

As it is, her amusement evaporates at his insistence.] If you can't remember anything it means you were...droned yesterday. Like the people who wander around th'town living out the 1950s stereotypes. Everyone was yesterday, I guess Lucy didn't want anyone muckin' up her holiday. So you'd...just have been a doting dad and obsessed with tools and barbecues and...fireworks. [At least, she presumed he'd turn out like that, since that seemed to be the way everyone went when they couldn't keep a grip on the proper set of memories.]

That's not so bad, though I better check with my assigned spousal unit to make sure I didn't do anything to make her want to hit me too badly.

So this has happened to you, has it? [There's a subtle, but slightly angrier tone in his voice; he doesn't like the thought of it changing Rose like that at all.]

Yeah, it's not...terrible or anythin', just embarrassing. And potentially damaging to some of your personal property, if you're keepin' anything interesting over there.

[She shifts a bit at his question, not that it can be seen.] It happens to everyone. It's...part of Lucy's amusement, or punishment, or...just her way of trying to get people to accept th'town on their own. [She's not sure which one it was that made everyone think hers was a forever thing, but she tries not to think on it too hard.]
