I'm sorry, but all of this blatant Caveman propoganda has gotten me a little riled up. I for one can't believe this blatant disregard for Astronautical intelligence. You have to look at this situation given the proposed variables, and analyze each respectibly. For a fictional meeting of this caliber we have to assume either combatant could potentially be armed with any number of things. But what does this limit the caveman to? Some logs? Rocks? Perhaps a spear if our paleolithic friend were truly evolved.
But what does this leave the astronaut to? The possibilities are endless. Probably things we can't even fathom. But I can be fair.. lets say these two beings meet fist to fist. Astronaut in his galactic space wear, caveman in his loin cloth. Hows that caveman ganna hurt our VERY well protected astonaut who is decked out in only the safest, quite secure and padded, radioactive resistant space suit. Seriously have you looked at those things? They're badass. They'll protect the astronaut from micro meteorites and shiite. You don't think that suit could withstand the club of a caveman? Doubtfull..
In conclusion, I don't think you can deny the sheer intellegence that the astronaut holds far above the caveman, and with thousands of years between them I would atleast HOPE that our NASA elite could take a single little poor postured cro-magnon man. Outsmart the damn neanderthal atleast.

My two cents.
