As you may have seen on the Kounisshimou, the Segunda Espada Barragan is planning to come to Soul Society.

We will not directly engage the Espada at this time. All companies are to stand in battle readiness until further notice.

The research started well, with a surprising amount of information available in the public record that was not made widely known.

To Senbonzakura I gave the important information that no new Zanpakutou have been joined in months - since at least April *. Before then there had been a rapid and steady decrease of Shinigami able to call Zanpakutou names *. (This was around the same time that the Hollow sickness came in March *.) He was deeply concerned with this news. And I am as well. Considering what he shared with me, it seems all too likely that Aizen could sweep away nearly all of the Gotei's strength by eliminating our Zanpakutou... or worse, turning them against us. It seems so impossible, but that makes it all the more possible.

Another abnormality that had been recorded in regards to Zanpakutou: January 25-27 *, there was a communication disruption.

In regards to the Central 46, not much was revealed.
All of them were appointed by Aizen at the end of December, 2008 *. Ten are Arrancar and a rather disturbing majority are of the nobility (mostly minor houses). It would be safe to say that they are all under Aizen's control in one way or another.
On March 3rd *, one of the Arrancar members of Central 46 was killed as a Hollow. (A fitting death.)

Now that I am coming to the end of the recent public records, obtaining new information to research will start to become more difficult.

All of the events that have happened in Soul Society indeed seem to have the purpose of weakening us so that Aizen can deal some sort of final blow more easily. I cannot begin to imagine what it will look like, but the hints, especially in regards to the Zanpakutou, are disturbing.

... Short of talking to Gin or Aizen, I doubt we will find all the needed pieces of information before disaster comes. I would consider it, but it would be nearly impossible to frame questions without insinuating rebellion against Aizen, which would certainly lead to a death sentence.

captain's announcement, plan would be good, senbonzakura, journal, investigation, reasoning, pensive, private
